The Magura MT5e Higo e-bike disc brake with 4-piston caliper, Carbotecture brake lever housing with circuit breaker. Very lightweight for a four-piston disc brake thanks to the aluminium brake lever and handlebar clamp. The high-performance brake with motorcycle braking technology for e-bike use, featuring special pedelec brake levers. The brake lever can be mounted on either the right or left side; the cable length is always 220 cm
Magura MT5e Higo NC brake lever:
The MT5 Higo NC brake levers with electronic switch and connection. The Magura MT brake levers can be mounted on either the right or left side
- HIGO Open / Close: Power switch built into the brake lever; the HIGO Open switch completes the circuit, whilst the HIGO Close switch breaks the circuit. Please check with your bike manufacturer to find out which version you require
- Magura Carbotecture: A material newly developed by Magura, consisting of a high proportion of carbon fibres embedded in a thermoplastic matrix. More powerful, more tensile-resistant,
- more flexible and more resistant to breakage than conventional fibre-reinforced plastics or laminated carbon fibre mats. Ideally suited for processing using the Carboflow process.
- Magura Carboflow: A process newly developed by Magura that allows carbon fibres to be optimally aligned with the direction of stress. Produces homogeneous, predictable surfaces. Significant weight savings are possible, as there is no need for oversizing.
Magura MT 5 brake caliper:
The Magura MT5 four-piston brake calipers, forged from a high-performance aluminium alloy with new magnetiXchange brake pistons for easy pad replacement.
- Forged 4-piston brake caliper with 4 brake pads
- Magura MagneticXchange: the magnetic brake pistons facilitate the fitting of the brake pads
- Magura Anti-Squeal: The combination of a specially formulated brake pad compound and brake disc design counteracts noise during braking.
- Magura Anti-Drag: Newly developed sealing rings and an adapted piston design ensure that, even when used in sub-zero temperatures or extremely muddy conditions, the pistons always return to their original position and do not rub against the disc.
- Magura Anti-Heat: The entire MT brake caliper system is designed to dissipate heat quickly into the surrounding environment, preventing a drop in performance.
- Magura RHR: The new Magura brakes, MT8, MT6 and MT4, are factory-fitted with a swivelling hose outlet on the spoke side to prevent damage and allow for neat hose routing on various frame designs.
Magura MDR-C brake disc:
The Magura MDR-C brake discs for e-bike use. More is better: thanks to their solid construction, the MDR-C discs offer outstanding heat dissipation and are therefore perfectly suited for use on e-bikes. An additional stiffening element above the 6-hole mounting reduces vibration during braking and thus noise. Furthermore, it offers improved heat resistance and stability. Naturally, these are also recommended if you are looking for ultra-stable discs for enduro and DH use. Brake discs for downhill through to all-mountain use. Also compatible with older Magura disc brakes.
Particularly stable, these are the ideal brake discs for e-bike, DH and all-mountain use of Magura disc brakes under high loads. The high stability, heat resistance and low wear are ensured by a special steel alloy and the more robust construction. The thickness of the Magura Storm discs, at just 2 mm, ensures minimal pad wear and a silent ride with maximum stability
Magura Royal Blood:
Magura continues to rely on high-performance mineral oil as the brake fluid. It is completely harmless to health in the event of skin contact and, as it does not absorb water over time like DOT fluid, bleeding intervals are significantly longer. For optimal performance, bleeding is required every 6–12 months, depending on frequency of use.
Magura warranty:
Naturally, Magura also offers the well-known 5-year leak-proof guarantee for these new brakes.
In the selection fields, you can choose the brake disc size and the mounting type for the fork or frame. No Magura adapters are currently available for Post Mount 6 and 220 mm discs. In these cases, we supply the appropriate Formula adapter for the Magura brake.
The Magura MT 5 Disc is supplied with Post Mount 6 brake calipers.
You can select the correct adapter for your frame and disc size. At present, almost all frames use the Post Mount standard.
IS 2000: Side mounting. An adapter is always required to fit the Magura MT; maximum 203 mm, minimum 160 mm on the fork and 140 mm disc size on the frame. Common on older suspension forks and almost all rear triangle frames
Post Mount, PM6: Direct mounting of the Magura MT5 with 160 mm brake discs without an adapter. Maximum 203 mm, minimum 160 mm on the fork and 140 mm disc size on the frame. Currently the most common standard on forks, and on some rear triangle frames.
Post Mount, PM7: Direct mounting of the Magura MT5 with 180mm brake discs without an adapter. Maximum 203mm, minimum 180mm disc size. 140mm and 160mm disc sizes are not possible. Found on some enduro suspension forks such as the Magura Thor and on some rear triangle frames such as the Liteville 301.
Post Mount, PM8: Direct mounting without an adapter for the Magura MT5 with 203mm brake discs. Can only be used with 203mm or 220mm brake discs. Found only on downhill suspension forks and frames
