Shimano Dura Ace Di2 12x2-speed:
The components used by the pros: the high-end Dura Ace wireless 12-speed series, crafted from the finest materials – titanium, carbon and aluminium. As a complete package, the Shimano Dura Ace R9200 Di2 TT disc brake groupset, optionally with bottom bracket, charger, brake discs and bleed kit. The new Shimano Dura Ace R9200 Di2 disc brake components, the top-of-the-range version of Shimano’s electronic road bike components.
Shimano does not manufacture 12-speed time trial shift levers. Therefore, the Dura Ace ST-R9180 and SW-R9180 Di2 shift levers are used and are then fitted complete with the Di1 cables. To ensure the shifters work with the 12-speed components, all Di2 components must receive the latest firmware update. This can be done after assembly using the Shimano app and a mobile phone, tablet, PC or the SMPCE02B diagnostic device. We also offer this update as an optional service.
Shimano Dura-Ace RD R9250 Di2 rear derailleur:
The new Dura-Ace Di2 rear derailleur is the centrepiece of the new Di2 12-speed components. It provides the wireless functionality and connection to external components, and also includes the charging port, replacing the previous SM-BCR2 charger. Furthermore, the rear derailleur houses the transmitter for wireless communication with the STI shifters and other external devices, including those from third-party manufacturers. It also features the status LED and the adjustment button, which is used, for example, to switch between Synchro-Shift modes, meaning that the previous Junction A port, SM-RS910, is no longer required.
Precise, lightning-fast shifting at the touch of a button, in any situation. The Shimano Dura Ace Di2 RD R9250 rear derailleur is even more compact and lighter than its predecessor and features E-Tube connectors for extremely easy installation. Equipped with a crash mechanism that disconnects the link to the motor in the event of strong external forces to prevent damage.
Shimano Dura Ace FD R9250 Di2 front derailleur:
Lighter, faster and more aerodynamic: the Dura-Ace 12-speed Di2 front derailleur. Designed for chainring sizes ranging from 50/34 to 54/40 teeth, the new 12-speed Dura-Ace Di2 front derailleur operates even faster and more precisely. More compact and faster than ever before, the Dura Ace R9250 front derailleur delivers shifts with digital precision in all conditions. By combining Shimano’s new Di2 platform with the road bike version of Hyperglide+, the Dura Ace R9250 front derailleur shifts between chainrings as quickly and seamlessly as no other model on the market.
Shimano Dura Ace Di2 STI R9180 TT Disc Shift-Brake Lever:
With the ST-R9180 STI Disc shift-brake lever, Shimano introduces a highly compact shift-brake lever designed for time trial handlebars, hydraulic disc brakes and the electronic Di2 shifting systems, marking another milestone in the development of hydraulic disc brake systems for road bikes. The new Dura Ace Di2 STI levers offer optimal ergonomics thanks to their adjustable grip width. The Dura-Ace Di2 shift-brake levers are fitted with carbon brake levers. They shift extremely quickly and precisely. Thanks to electronic transmission of shift commands, these are executed without delay. Operation is similar to that of mechanical STI levers, with shifting at the touch of a button. The new 11-speed shifters are also equipped with the programmable Multishift function. Shimano’s engineers have succeeded in integrating a mineral oil cylinder, including a complete braking system, into the still very compact mechanical shift-brake levers. The brake levers are made from multi-layer composite; this technology guarantees maximum stiffness, durability and a lightweight design. Thanks to the improved position of the brake cable, a smooth braking action is achieved, leading to optimised control in extreme conditions. The Dual Control shift/brake levers can be optimally adjusted to the rider via a grip width adjustment and are also very well suited to riders with small hands. With the new shift levers, shifting can be performed much more quickly. This is achieved through a 20 per cent shorter cable. The grips feature an ergonomic design for greater comfort – even over long distances.
Shimano Dura Ace Di2 STI SW-R9160 TT Bar-End Shifters:
The electronic Shimano time trial shift lever for the Di2 system. The Di2 shift levers SW-RW9160 are mounted on the handlebar ends of the time trial extensions. Optionally, the SW-R9150 second shifter can be fitted, allowing the rear gears to be changed quickly and without re-gripping in any riding situation. The SW-R9160 Di2 shifters with their single-button design offer the ability to operate the front derailleur and rear derailleur in the aero position
Shimano Dua Ace Disc BR-R9270 brake calipers:
The BR-R9270 road bike disc brake calipers for the 12-speed Dua Ace groupset. These calipers are compatible with all Shimano disc brake levers. Recommended brake discs: RT-MT900. Thanks to the 10 per cent greater spacing between the brake pads, the brakes can be adjusted more effectively and noise is minimised.
The new Dua Ace BR-R9270 brake caliper offers improved modulation, a quieter braking system and an extremely simple bleeding process. The Dura-Ace R9270 disc brake caliper offers road cyclists a completely new sense of control thanks to its improved modulation and faster-engaging initial braking force. Despite its flatter design, the system produces less braking noise than ever before and is easier to maintain. The bleeding system has been redesigned and made significantly simpler.
Optional Dura Ace RT-CL900 brake discs:
The new Shimano Dura Ace RT-CL900 Ice Tech Centerlock brake discs, quieter control on any terrain. The lightweight brake discs, featuring heat-dissipating painted, protruding aluminium layer segments, deliver excellent cooling performance, consistent braking power and easier operation in all conditions. Quieter than ever before, yet with first-class and reliable braking performance on all long, steep descents thanks to excellent heat dissipation. When developing the new brake disc, the aim was to prevent heat-induced warping. The result is incredibly quiet braking performance without compromising on weight or heat dissipation.
Shimano Dura-Ace Powermeter Power Measurement Technology:
The newly developed power meter crankset from the Dura Ace series with power measurement on both sides. The power meter’s central unit sits compactly behind the crank spindle, and the strain gauges are integrated into the left and right crank arms. Thanks to the battery integrated into the axle, the Bluetooth interface and the ability to update the power meter’s firmware via the E-Tube platform. The Bluetooth® LE and ANT+ interfaces are compatible with many cycle computers. The power meter features a small magnetic adapter for charging the battery. This ensures the system is completely waterproof and offers an elegant design. Perhaps most importantly, however, are the battery life, the ease of charging, and the ANT+ and Bluetooth® LE connectivity, which make recording and utilising training data easier than ever before. Shimano power metre cranksets contain a total of 24 sensors – 12 per side – in a full-bridge configuration*.
To accurately separate the force applied to the cranks in the tangential and normal directions, each sensor is positioned at an angle to compensate for crank deflection.
This uniquely designed sensor increases measurement accuracy and enables the measurement of force vectors.
Shimano Power Vector Analysis
When used with Shimano Connect LAB, Shimano powermeters can analyse pedalling efficiency whilst riding or on your home PC. This requires Shimano’s E-Tube Ride app. Unfortunately, it is not compatible with Garmin devices.
When developing power metre cranks, SHIMANO engineers take into account the crank design, the manufacturing process, the materials used, and the crank deflection under load. It is precisely this expert knowledge that enables Shimano to achieve such high-precision force vector measurement. Thanks to the latest technology and Shimano’s industry-leading expertise, the latest SHIMANO power metre cranks are cutting-edge training tools. The Dura-Ace power metre cranksets feature a total of 24 sensors – 12 on each side – in a full-bridge configuration. To accurately separate the force applied to the cranks in the tangential and normal directions, each sensor is positioned at an angle to compensate for crank deflection. This uniquely designed sensor enhances measurement accuracy and enables the measurement of force vectors. Power is important, but a raw power figure alone doesn’t give you the full picture. If you understand how you generate power and find ways to improve your efficiency, you can take your performance to a new level. Shimano’s power vector function provides real-time feedback on your pedalling, giving you a better understanding of your pedalling effort.
Optional bottom bracket:
We offer optional bottom brackets from Shimano, Wheels Manufacturing and FSA for the Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 groupset. This allows the crankset to be fitted to all standard bottom bracket shells.
Shimano Dura Ace CS-R9200 cassette:
The Shimano Dura Ace CSR9200 cassette, featuring two large sprocket blocks and titanium sprockets on an aluminium spider, delivers Shimano’s outstanding smooth shifting performance combined with low weight and long-lasting durability. Shimano offers replacement sprockets for these cassettes. This means that if only a few are worn, they can be replaced cost-effectively.
The new Hyperglide+ cassettes set new standards for shifting, thanks to smooth gear changes across the entire gear range. Even when applying maximum force on climbs or sprinting to the finish line, riders no longer need to worry about changing gears. In all gears, the Dura-Ace R9200 drivetrain ensures maximum efficiency thanks to larger teeth. Despite their expansion to 12 speeds without adding weight, Dura-Ace CS-R9200 cassettes set new standards for road bike shifting systems.
The 12-speed cassettes are compatible with both the new HG12 and the previous HG11 freehub bodies. The new 12-speed freehub bodies feature finer teeth. This allows for a significantly better connection between the cassette and the freehub body.
Shimano Dura Ace CN - M9100 chain:
The Shimano chain for 12-speed road bike and MTB drivetrains. The special asymmetrical outer and inner links, combined with Shimano’s SIL-TEC surface coating, minimise friction, optimise performance and also reduce dirt build-up.
The chain is perfectly matched to the 12-speed Shimano chainrings with Dynamic Chain Engagement+ (DCE+) tooth profiles. The HG Plus chain has been completely redesigned and features even finer, precision-machined contact surfaces with the sprockets and chainrings, particularly on the inner links. Furthermore, the inner links are chrome-plated, making them even more durable whilst delivering outstanding shifting performance when shifting up or down.
Flat Mount Standard:
The new Flat Mount caliper standard for road bike brakes reduces weight and offers a significantly sleeker look. With the Flat Mount standard, the rear brake caliper sits directly on the chainstay; no adapter is required for caliper mounting. The bolts pass through the chainstay from below directly into the brake caliper. A flat adapter is still required on the fork. The adapter is screwed onto the rear of the fork leg, with the brake sitting directly on the adapter.
Synchro-Shift technology
Synchro-Shift technology greatly simplifies gear changes and significantly reduces the number of decisions that need to be made whilst riding. Particularly in crucial race situations or when riding at full throttle, riders often have to make a multitude of decisions alongside the physical strain, which are frequently disrupted and lead to wrong decisions. The fewer decisions there are to make, the better the decisions will be and the more attention can be focused on the race. This is precisely what Shimano Synchro-Shift technology enables, always selecting the optimal next-higher or next-lower gear combination, regardless of whether this requires shifting at the rear derailleur and/or the front derailleur.
Shimano Synchro-Shift functions
- Full Synchro-Shift: The front derailleur reacts to the shifts the rider makes on the rear derailleur. Essentially, this means that only one shifter with two levers is needed to operate both the rear and front derailleurs.
- Semi Synchro-Shift: The rear derailleur responds to the gear changes the rider makes on the front derailleur. The rear derailleur automatically performs the necessary compensatory shifting.
Shimano Di2 installation:
Installing Shimano Di2 components is almost easier than fitting traditional gear systems. The standardised cable connectors and the junction box ensure straightforward and quick installation. The shift levers are connected to Junction Port A on the junction box; a cable runs from Junction Port A to Junction Port B on the junction box, and from there the cables run to the rear derailleur, front derailleur and battery. The battery can be mounted externally on the bottle cage or internally in the seat tube or down tube. Frames specifically designed for this purpose are required for internal cable routing.
Compatible bottom bracket shells
There is now a wide variety of bottom bracket shells available on modern frames. Shimano only offers compatible bottom brackets for some of these. To ensure the Ultegera groupset fits all frames, we supply optional FSA or Wheels MFG bottom brackets for the bottom bracket shells for which Shimano does not offer bottom brackets. The Wheels Outboard bottom brackets are significantly more durable than standard press-fit bearings, as the cup halves are bolted together, ensuring they sit firmly in the frame. The Wheels bearings are available in various grades: ABEC3 standard bearings, angular contact bearings and ceramic bearings.
