The new Red AXS E1 shift-brake levers with disc brakes and the Karoo computer as an upgrade for your bike

The Sram Red AXS upgrade kits allow you to upgrade to the new Red AXS shifting components. You can then combine these with all AXS rear derailleurs, front derailleurs, cranksets, power meters, chains and cassettes. This results in a very attractive option for upgrading, both in terms of price and technology

Sram Red eTap AXS:

The SRAM Red eTap AXS is much more than an evolution. It is a 12-speed revolution. The developers at SRAM have created a groupset that is as capable as today’s riders and the bikes they choose. It offers a wider range, smoother gear changes and smarter shifting settings, made possible by AXS and the simplicity of eTap shifting logic, ensuring you always select the right gear. SRAM AXS, Access allows you to personalise the groupset directly from your mobile phone and make changes even whilst riding. The SRAM AXS app enables riders to view battery status, adjust component behaviour, personalise shift logic, receive maintenance alerts and update the firmware.

Flat Mount Standard:

The Flat Mount caliper standard for road bike brakes reduces weight and offers a significantly sleeker look. With the Flat Mount standard, the rear brake caliper sits directly on the chainstay for 140 mm disc sizes; an adapter for caliper mounting is only required for 160 mm discs. The bolts pass through the chainstay from below directly into the brake caliper. A flat adapter is still required on the fork. The adapter is screwed onto the rear of the fork leg, with the brake sitting directly on the adapter. By flipping the adapter over, the available brake disc size can be changed between 140 and 160 mm. To use a 160 mm disc on the rear wheel/frame, an adapter is required (Part No. 00.5318.018.001).

SRAM AXS Technology

AXS is the electronic integration platform that connects SRAM’s electronic bike components and software. The AXS components communicate wirelessly with each other using 128-bit encryption. Each time a groupset comprising, for example, shift levers, a front derailleur and a rear derailleur is paired, a unique code is generated to prevent interference with other riders. The SRAM AXS app allows you to view battery status, adjust component behaviour, customise controllers, receive maintenance reminders and update the firmware.

SRAM Orbit Technology

Orbit technology uses a special silicone fluid as part of a very lightweight damping system. Compared to a conventional friction clutch system, the technology generates no additional resistance on the rear derailleur spring during slow or light movement. This means smoother shifting and easier removal of the rear wheel. Whilst riding, the fluid damper keeps the chain reliably under control.
