Chris King DropSet 4 Ceramic Headset

The Chris King DropSet 4 headset with IS42 top cup and IS42 bottom cup for frames with a 42 mm bearing seat at the top and 42 mm at the bottom of the head tube, and forks with a steerer tube diameter of 1 1/8 inch / 28.6 mm at the top and 1 1/8 inch / 30 mm at the bottom.

Please note that the integrated bearing housing requires different bearing angles depending on the frame manufacturer. The DropSet 4 has a bearing angle of 45x45 degrees at the top and 36x45 degrees at the bottom. If in doubt, please check with the frame manufacturer to ensure this headset is compatible with your frame.

Chris King Ceramic Bearings

Chris King’s ceramic bearings offer the same qualities in terms of durability, maintenance and performance, but are even lighter and harder than the tried-and-tested stainless steel bearings. IS Integrated Standard fully integrated headsets:

Head sets with the Integrated Standard (IS) require frames that incorporate the raceway for the head set bearings. Hence the name ‘fully integrated’. The head set then consists of the bearings inserted into the head tube of the frame, plus the fork taper and upper bearing cover with cap and claw.

lower frame mount 42 mm diameter, height 1 mm, bearing angle 45x45 degrees, lower steerer tube diameter 30 mm, tapered 1 1/8 inch. The tapered seat is 30 mm.
