Hookless / Tubeless Straight Side (TSS) rims:
Hookless Tubeless or Tubeless Straight Side (standard abbreviation TSS) describe the construction of the rims. Tubeless-compatible rims can be ridden without an inner tube, but a setup with an inner tube is also possible. Hookless or Straight Side describe the shape of the rim flange, which in this case is straight and designed without the classic hook. This design offers advantages in terms of greater impact resistance for carbon rim flanges and allows tyre pressures of up to 5 bar.
Hooked / Crotchet Tubeless, TC, rims:
The terms ‘Hook’ or ‘Crochet’ refer to the shape of the rim flange, which features a so-called hook. This supports the tyre bead and ensures reliable performance, even when using high tyre pressure (> 5 bar). ‘Tubeless’ means that the rim can be used without an inner tube, but a setup with an inner tube is also possible.
