SRAM Maven Silver B1 Brake
Its exemplary braking power, which has made the Maven the benchmark for modern MTB brakes, instils boundless confidence and untamed courage in the rider. With its extreme braking power, the Maven allows you to ride at higher speeds with greater control on increasingly challenging terrain – giving you the ability to push your own limits, no matter where your ride takes you. Maximum control starts at the brake lever – and that’s exactly where the Maven Silver comes into its own with a new SwingLink architecture – for even smoother brake power delivery, improved modulation and reduced hand fatigue. The rigid, 4-bolt caliper is incredibly heat-resistant, delivering fabulously consistent braking power – so that the last corner feels just as good as the first. With so much braking power at your disposal, there are more options than ever before to fine-tune the riding characteristics using different brake pads and rotor sizes exactly as you wish. The Maven Silver features a striking black anodised finish with black hardware. The tool-free reach and reach adjustment makes personalisation easier than ever before. The revised SwingLink architecture delivers even more predictable braking power and even smoother lever movement right up to the bite point – catering to the ergonomic preferences of even more riders. * 18 mm pistons for first-class braking power
The SRAM Maven delivers almost 50 per cent more braking power than one of the most powerful brakes of all time, the SRAM Code. With 32 per cent less hand force required on the lever, the MAVEN generates the same braking performance as the Code. This reduces fatigue and improves control on tough DH terrain, on gruelling e-MTB rides and long enduro stages. Although it’s tempting to focus solely on this fact, the Maven is about more than just brute force. Maven’s excess braking power makes it the first choice for the sport’s most extreme applications. But with so much power, you can also dial it back. Think of it like a volume control. More available power gives you more options.
Sram Maven Silver B1 brake lever:
the brake lever featuring Stealth lever architecture for a sleeker, more modern riding experience is exceptionally smooth-operating and low-maintenance. The tool-free lever reach and free-play adjustment, combined with the new brake lever design featuring Expandable Bladder technology, guarantee first-class performance.
SRAM SwingLink:
Revised SwingLink architecture for smooth brake force delivery and an even lighter lever movement up to the pressure point, so it caters to the ergonomic preferences of even more riders. A shorter free travel, optimised brake pad actuation. The SwingLink, optimised for Maven, delivers leverage that varies across the entire lever travel. The further you pull the lever, the more force Maven sends to the pistons. This progressive force delivery offers unrivalled control. In contrast to the binary nature of an on/off sensation. Which isn’t really a sensation at all. Thanks to the new cam design, a shorter lever travel is required to push the brake pads towards the brake disc. That’s all well and good, but perfect braking performance depends on more than just force. You need control. Many braking systems offer a shorter initial travel – but at the expense of modulation. SwingLink solves this problem with its special cam shape. When the brake pads touch the brake disc, the force is modulated, creating the perfect balance between power and precision.
Sram Maven Silver brake caliper:
With four brake pistons measuring 19.5 mm and 18 mm in diameter, there’s no getting round it: the Maven’s brake pistons are simply massive and provide more pressure against the pads for better friction with less effort. Massive brake pistons are of no use if the ratio of piston size to lever isn’t matched to them. The force is determined by the ratio between these piston sizes, and Maven offers excellent optimisation of these parameters. If you measure a brake caliper under load, you will notice that it bends. The four bolts on the Maven brake caliper housing aren’t just there for decoration. They reduce power loss at the caliper, ensuring a confident feel at the lever. Maven brake pads are inserted from below. Why? This crucial design feature helps achieve the stiffness required to deliver this level of performance.
SRAM Expandable Bladder
SRAM’s brake lever design incorporates a new bladder shape that regulates and reduces air bubbles. The bladder is specially shaped to pump air out of the lever and transport the fluid exactly where it is needed. The result is improved back-pressure relief for reliable and consistent braking performance.
SRAM Matchmaker X
enables direct mounting of SRAM Trigger shift levers, from model year 2010 onwards without an additional handlebar clamp, saving weight and space; also compatible with RockShox Reverb remotes.
The SRAM Maven Disc is supplied with Post Mount brake calipers.
You can select the correct adapter for your fork and frame, as well as the brake disc sizes.
IS 2000: Side-mounted. An adapter is always required for mounting the Level Ultimate; maximum 200 mm, minimum 160 mm on the fork and 140 mm disc size on the frame. Common on older suspension forks and almost all rear triangle frames
Post Mount, PM5: Direct mounting of the brake caliper with 140 mm brake discs, no adapter required. Maximum 180 mm, minimum 140 mm disc size. Currently found only on rear triangle frames
Post Mount, PM6: Direct mounting of the brake caliper with 160 mm brake discs without an adapter. Maximum 200 mm, minimum 160 mm on the fork and 140 mm disc size on the frame. Currently the most common standard on forks, and on some rear triangle frames.
Post Mount, PM7: Direct mounting of the brake caliper with 180mm brake discs without an adapter. Maximum 200mm, minimum 180mm disc size. 140mm and 160mm disc sizes are not possible. Found on some enduro suspension forks such as the Magura Thor and on some rear triangle frames such as the Liteville 301.
Post Mount, PM8: Direct mounting of the brake caliper without an adapter, using 200mm brake discs. Can only be used with 200mm and 220mm brake discs. Found only on downhill suspension forks and frames
