The HS 491 tread pattern of the Hans Dampf, with its semi-open block arrangement, elliptical transition blocks, extra-stable shoulder blocks and larger block diameters, gives the Hans Dampf more grip in corners and uphill. Schwalbe Addix SpeedGrip:

The Addix SpeedGrip rubber compound stands for speed, grip and durability. The compound with by far the widest range of applications, virtually a universal compound. Ideal for cross-country, all-mountain and trail riding. Durability is 62 per cent higher than that of its predecessor, PaceStar, whilst grip is improved by 35 per cent. Most EVO tyres are available in a version featuring Addix SpeedGrip. It replaces the previous PaceStar compound – not the only difference, but a significant one during intensive use: greater mileage and a longer service life. Plenty of everything: speed, grip and durability. Combining all three characteristics perfectly in a single compound is actually almost impossible. But with Addix Speedgrip, Schwalbe has now succeeded at a level they previously thought impossible

Schwalbe Super Trail EVO casing:

In addition to Snake Skin puncture protection, the Super Trail casing offers Apex puncture protection and extra rim protection. This ensures excellent protection. The Evo casing, with extremely tightly woven threads at a steep angle, offers maximum riding comfort and minimal rolling resistance. The modern, sophisticated construction guarantees riders an optimal synthesis of protection, lightness and excellent rolling characteristics. Even better cut resistance, increased puncture resistance and, above all, it enables an extremely easy tubeless conversion. The use of sealant is required, but otherwise fitting is just as easy as with true tubeless tyres. With Tubeless Easy, there are no more lengthy conversion processes involving vigorous shaking and frequent re-inflation.
