In all-mountain riding, versatility is the key to success. That’s exactly what the XMC 1200 SPLINE is all about. DT Swiss’s new carbon compression process ensures durable yet lightweight rims, whilst the patent-pending layer-by-layer quality control minimises imperfections, so you can rely on them completely. A nimble and lighter front rim and a more robust rear rim make these wheels efficient and reliable, whether for everyday use or unplanned adventures. Free yourself from the constraints of your last setup and dive into your next adventure.
To make the 1200 family a real highlight among MTB wheelsets, DT Swiss had to break new ground. A new rim manufacturing process, unique in the industry, ensures durable yet lightweight rims through maximum compression of the carbon layers. A 100% quality control check on every single rim ensures that the rims leave production flawless. No final finishing step is required to treat the surfaces, as the rims come straight from the mould and are ready for immediate use. This process, combined with the adaptation of components to your riding style, results in a finely tuned system that meets your highest expectations. The 1200 wheels are for anyone who wants to constantly improve and isn’t afraid to stand out from the crowd.
An industry-unique rim manufacturing process and a loss-free layer-by-layer inspection of every product ensure lightweight yet durable rims for a long-lasting riding experience. Furthermore, the 1200 series wheels feature carbon layers that envelop the entire rim and stabilise the rim flanges against heavy impacts using long, continuous fibres.
The patent-pending outer carbon layer ensures an unrivalled high-quality finish to the rim surface, meaning the rim is ready for use immediately upon removal from the mould. The result is a structurally optimised composition free from air pockets and resin build-up, which not only improves the rim’s reliability but also ensures an elegant design.
Thanks to a patented process, a unique surface is achieved, eliminating the need for final coatings and resulting in weight savings.
To ensure that our rims are 100% ready for immediate use, each rim is inspected through all layers using a technology for which a patent application has been filed. Thanks to this completely new method, all rims that are not 100% flawless are rejected, and only rims without any material defects are approved.
DT Swiss Carbon Shield Technology
Wheelsets subjected to particularly high stresses are protected by carbon layers surrounding the entire rim; this reinforces the rim flange in particular with long, uninterrupted fibre strands. The resulting protection against impacts and higher stresses prevents structural weakening between the carbon layers, ensuring carefree riding pleasure even on challenging routes. The number of added carbon layers increases in line with the expected load in the various areas of use.
DT Swiss 1200 EXP Hubs:
DT Swiss straight-pull hub bodies of the XMC 1200 Spline are based on the super-light DT Swiss EXP 180 hub series with Sinc Ceramic ball bearings and require minimal material usage. With the optimised hub body, specially designed for extreme braking forces, and the reinforced flange, the DT Swiss straight-pull hubs provide the perfect foundation for extremely stable wheelsets. The ceramic bearings ensure a long, silky-smooth ride, and the Centerlock brake disc mount allows for the installation of any braking system.
DT Swiss XMC 1200 Spline Carbon Rims:
Carbon allows for the production of a 30 mm wide yet very lightweight rim that provides ideal support for modern wide tyres, enables lower tyre pressure and thus reduces rolling resistance on rough surfaces. Thanks to the low moment of inertia of a carbon rim, the DT Spline 1200 wheelsets offer rapid acceleration and precise handling. With a rim width of 30 mm, they are ideal for use in cross-country and marathon riding with wide tyres. Thanks to their hookless design, the rims are designed for tubeless tyres and offer excellent puncture resistance whilst remaining extremely lightweight. With an internal rim width of 30 mm, tyres ranging from 2.1 to 2.8 inches in width can be fitted. The rim beads of the DT Swiss Spline Carbon rims are ideally designed for tubeless use. DT Swiss has also developed new tubeless kits specifically for this purpose. These are included in the scope of delivery
Hookless Tubeless TSS:
Hookless Tubeless or Tubeless Straight Side (standard abbreviation TSS) describe the rim design. Tubeless-compatible rims can be used without an inner tube, but a setup with an inner tube is also possible. Hookless or Straight Side describes the shape of the rim flange, which in this case is straight and without the classic hook. This design offers advantages in terms of greater impact resistance for carbon rim flanges and allows tyre pressures of up to 5 bar.
DT Swiss Straight Pull Revolite spokes:
To achieve an ideal balance between weight and stability, only the highest quality straight-pull spokes are used in Spline One wheelsets. They are more stable than conventional spokes yet can still be trued and replaced using standard tools. The straight-pull lacing allows for precise placement and alignment of the spokes. This optimises wheel stiffness and eliminates any unwanted stress peaks.
