29-inch wheelset with Shimano XT disc hubs and Mavic XC 1025 rims

The 29-inch wheelset for cross-country, marathon and road racing. Thanks to the high-end Mavic XC 1025 rims, weighing just 499 grams with a 25 mm rim width suitable for tyres up to 2.5 inches wide, and the robust Shimano XT hubs, it is very durable and low-maintenance. A wheelset for long-lasting, carefree riding enjoyment.

We offer this wheelset with different axle options, so you can put together the right version for your bike. The Shimano XT hubs are available as M8110B hubs for 15x110 and 12x148mm Boost mounting, the M8010 for 15x100 and 12x142mm thru-axle mounting, and the M8000 for quick-release mounting.

Shimano XT Hubs M8010 / M8000

Disc brake hubs from the Shimano XT 8000 and 8010 series for MTB bikes. New seals and axles provide reliable protection against contamination of the bearings. Equipped with a new 4-pawl freehub body for loss-free power transmission. The Centerlock mount allows for easy mounting of Shimano Centerlock brake discs. An adapter is available for 6-hole brake discs.

Mavic XC 1025 rim:

The high-end cross-country rim, featuring ISM 4D weight tuning, 25 mm internal width, hookless rim flange, tubeless optimisation, welded rim joint and reinforced rim holes, offering an excellent weight-to-stability ratio.

Super-sturdy welded rim joint; despite a 25 mm rim width, the welded rim is exceptionally light at 499 grams, thanks to ISM 4D weight tuning and Inter Spoke Milling, which removes material precisely where it is not needed without weakening the highly stressed spoke holes. This form of weight reduction enables faster acceleration without compromising on durability. All this makes the XC 1025 our top recommendation for stable and lightweight cross-country wheelsets. Suitable for disc brakes only. Applications: Cross-country, gravel, race.

Wheel building at TNC-Hamburg:

We hand-build these wheels exclusively for you. Thanks to over 30 years of experience in wheel building, we extract the optimum in roundness, durability and stiffness from the material. These wheels are, of course, pre-tensioned multiple times; we also pre-load the spokes in both the radial and lateral directions. This eliminates the need for re-truing over a long period of time. We use DT Swiss spokes exclusively. These ensure outstanding durability of the wheelsets. For DH and Enduro use, we recommend brass nipples.

DT Competition spokes:

The double cold-forged spoke made from rust-resistant 18/10 chrome-nickel steel with a tapered middle section for robust, lightweight wheels. We recommend these spokes for virtually all wheels. Extremely durable and sufficiently lightweight, DT Competition spokes enable wheel building of the highest standard. Thanks to the tapered middle section, the spokes absorb movements in the wheel exceptionally well, without compromising on lateral stiffness or durability. Weight with nipple approx. 7 grams

DT Swiss Aero Comp spokes:

Designed for stable, laterally stiff yet aerodynamic wheelsets, the DT Swiss Aero Comp spoke is first cold-forged in the middle section, making it lighter and stronger. In a further complex process, it is flat-forged to optimise aerodynamic properties whilst simultaneously increasing material strength. The DT Aero Comp guarantees a balanced combination of stiffness, aerodynamics and durability.

DT Swiss Aero Lite spokes:

The DT Swiss Aerolite spoke is flatter and lighter than any other; the DT Swiss Aerolite spoke features an aerodynamic flat profile and is extremely lightweight. Thanks to the 0.9 x 2.3 mm aerodynamic mid-section, this spoke can be fitted to all standard hubs. The Cold Forging Technology (CFT) developed by DT Swiss makes the reduced and forged DT Aerolite the lightest stainless steel spoke and gives it excellent mechanical properties. Particularly suitable for super-light and fast road or cross-country wheelsets. 64 DT Aerolite spokes weigh just an incredible 278 g at a length of 264 mm. Weight per spoke at a length of 264 mm: 4.31 grams

DT Squorx spoke nipples:

The DT Swiss Squorx Pro Head nipple combines ease of installation with light weight thanks to the DT Pro Head shape, combined with an additional Torx and square tool socket. The Torx socket provides a larger contact area during wheel building, ensuring that the force from the tool is better distributed across the nipple. The spherical contact area within the rim guarantees perfect alignment with the spoke.
