The Campagnolo Zonda wheelsets, with a total weight of 1,596 grams per set, feature rims of different heights: 26 mm rim height for the front wheel and 30 mm for the rear wheel. This design makes the front wheel particularly responsive, i.e. easier to control, whilst the rear wheel, with its higher profile, is stiffer and thus designed for optimal transfer of the rider’s power.

Campagnolo Zonda rims and spokes:

• Mega G3 geometry ensures perfect balance of spoke tension on both sides of the wheel. This reduces stress, increases lateral stiffness and improves power transfer to the wheel. G3 also eliminates vibrations, even for heavier riders.
• Momag enables a non-drilled rim profile – greater stiffness and no need for a rim tape.
• Dynamic Balance: Every point on the rim is balanced by an equal counterweight on the opposite side. Maximum stability of the wheel even at high speeds.
• Differentiated rim height: 26 mm on the front wheel for optimum handling; 30 mm on the rear wheel for the most efficient power transfer to the drive wheel.
• Spoke Anti-Rotation System: keeps the spokes in the position offering optimum aerodynamics.
• Aerodynamic stainless steel spokes: optimal airflow – reduced weight and increased responsiveness.

Campagnolo Zonda hubs and quick-release skewers:

• Oversize flange Mega G3: increases torsional stiffness, resulting in better responsiveness to every change in the rider’s cadence. The hubs with oversize hub bodies feature particularly smooth-running precision deep-groove ball bearings. To save weight, the freehub body and pawl carrier are machined from a single piece of aluminium. The quick-release levers, made from forged aluminium with a double pivot, ensure even distribution of braking force.
• New quick-release skewers: featuring a completely redesigned construction and reduced weight. Steel pin and eccentric, lever with weight-reducing hollow section and aluminium lock nut. The locking mechanism with eccentric system allows for modulation of the force required to close the lever and provides greater sensitivity for correct locking of the quick-release. Easy to use, with materials that are resistant to wear, corrosion and stress.
