Wheel building at TNC-Hamburg:

We hand-build these wheels exclusively for you. Thanks to over 30 years’ experience in wheel building, we extract the optimum in concentricity, durability and stiffness from the materials. These wheels are, of course, tested multiple times; we also pre-load the spokes in both the radial and lateral directions. This eliminates the need for re-truing over a long period. We use DT Swiss spokes exclusively. These ensure outstanding durability of the wheels. For DH and Enduro use, we recommend brass nipples.

These wheelsets are custom-made for you, which is why we cannot offer a right of return for them. We do not offer cash on delivery for these wheelsets.

Included in delivery:

• Front wheel fully laced in our workshop and hand-trued with a Son Delux hub, DT spokes, DT nipples as selected and a DT Swiss RR 511 rim.

DT Swiss Competition spokes

The double cold-forged spoke made from rust-proof 18/10 chrome-nickel steel with a tapered middle section for robust, lightweight wheels. We recommend these spokes for virtually all wheels. Extremely durable and sufficiently lightweight, the DT Competition spokes enable wheel building of the highest standard. Thanks to the tapered section, the spokes absorb movement in the wheel exceptionally well, without compromising on lateral stiffness or durability.

DT Swiss Pro Lock Squorx Pro Head spoke nipples

The Squorx Pro Head nipples are required for the new DT Swiss rims in the new tubeless-ready X series. Want to increase the lifespan of a wheel several-fold? That’s only possible with DT Pro Lock! This nipple features an integrated thread-locking system, developed and manufactured by DT Swiss. The two-component adhesive in the nipple thread prevents the spoke-nipple connection from loosening under the influence of operational loads and the loading and unloading of the wheel whilst riding, thereby ensuring constant spoke tension.

Schmidt SONdelux hub dynamo

The SonDelux hub dynamo offers excellent smooth running and high efficiency, and is the ideal complement to Schmidt’s Edelux lamps, as the SonDelux has particularly low power loss yet still produces plenty of light at low speeds.

Thanks to its reduced flange spacing and diameter, it is barely more noticeable than a standard hub dynamo. The SonDelux is the successor to the classic SON. Naturally, like all SON models, it is manufactured with the AWS pressure compensation system. Weighing 390g, it is one of the lightest hub dynamos in the world. It is approved for tandem use with radial lacing. The SonDelux dynamo is approved under the StVZO for wheel diameters ranging from 16 inches to 29 inches.

DT Swiss RR551 rim:

The RR 511 road and cyclocross rim from DT Swiss for aerodynamic wheelsets. Very sturdy thanks to a high-strength aluminium alloy and a 21.5 mm rim width. With clean workmanship, a welded joint, CNC-machined sidewalls and a 32 mm high rim bed, the DT Swiss RR 511 offers the ideal rim for building lightweight and aerodynamic wheelsets. Thanks to its high profile, the DT Swiss RR 511 rims are stable enough to build a sturdy and durable wheelset even with a low spoke count. The DT Swiss RR 511 rims are high-end rims with a special spoke nipple mount and are supplied with special DT Squorx Pro Head nipples and PHR washers; they must only be laced using these nipples. Furthermore, the DT Swiss RR 511 rims are tubeless-ready.
