Formula Cura X Disc Brake Set

The Formula Cura X disc brakes with carbon brake levers and 2-piston calipers are designed for use in racing, marathon and all-mountain riding, offering outstanding braking power and stability. Developed without compromising on performance, power and braking modulation.

Formula Cura X brake lever:

The brake lever features a radial piston and a large compensation reservoir for extremely high stability. The two-piece aluminium brake lever can be fitted in seconds and mounted on either the right or left side. The position of the bleed screws allows for filling and bleeding whilst the lever is fitted. The patented radial piston cylinder design in the brake lever enables a slim profile with a large oil reservoir. Handlebar clamps are available as an option in the Matchmaker version for direct mounting of SRAM Trigger shift levers.

Formula Cura X brake caliper:

the newly designed brake caliper with 2 pistons. The combination of the forged two-piece caliper and a low-friction anodised coating results in unprecedented braking power coupled with high reliability. This has been made possible not least by the friction-reduced pistons of the two-piece forged and high-quality anodised brake caliper. However, the excellent ergonomics and low operating forces of the Cura 4 brake levers also contribute significantly to the success of the Formula brake. As do the increased friction surface and thickness of the brake pads, which ensure exceptional modulation and controllability.

Formula brake disc

The new Formula brake disc, even more stable and quieter. Designed to fit the Formula Cura disc brakes, the original Formula brake disc. Significantly more stable thanks to the new design and thus also contributing to the outstanding braking performance of the Formula disc brakes.

The Centerlock locking ring is not included.

Formula brake pads:

The extremely robust, semi-metallic brake pads guarantee maximum braking performance. The pads can be replaced without removing the disc.

Formula mineral oil brake fluid:

Formula uses mineral oil brake fluid for the Cura brakes.

Included: Formula Cura X brake levers, Formula Cura X brake calipers, 175 cm hoses, Centerlock brake discs without lock ring, adapters, hoses and all necessary screws. We supply the Formula Cura brakes fully pre-assembled, bled and, of course, with a full manufacturer’s warranty.

The Formula Cura disc brake is supplied with Post Mount 6 brake calipers.

The appropriate adapter for your frame and brake disc size is available separately. Currently, almost all frames use the IS 2000 standard.

IS 2000: Side mounting. An adapter is always required to fit the Formula CR3 brake; maximum 203 mm, minimum 160 mm on the fork and 140 mm disc size on the frame. Common on older suspension forks and almost all rear triangle frames

Post Mount, PM5: Direct mounting of the Formula CR3 brake with 140 mm brake discs without an adapter. Maximum 180 mm, minimum 140 mm disc size. Currently found only on rear triangle frames

Post Mount, PM6: Direct mounting of the Formula CR3 brake with 160 mm brake discs without an adapter. Maximum 203 mm, minimum 160 mm on the fork and 140 mm disc size on the frame. Currently the most common standard on forks, and on some rear triangle frames.

Post Mount, PM7: Direct mounting of the Formula CR3 brake with 180mm discs without an adapter. Maximum 203mm, minimum 180mm disc size. 140mm and 160mm disc sizes are not possible. Found on some enduro suspension forks such as the Magura Thor and on some rear triangle frames such as the Liteville 301.

Post Mount, PM8: Direct mounting without an adapter for the Formula CR3 brake with 203mm brake discs. Can only be used with 203mm brake discs. Found only on downhill suspension forks and frames
