Magura MT 4 eStop Disc Brake Set
The Magura MT4 eStop brakes are optimised for the demands of modern e-bikes. Reliable power for off-road or urban rides. Particularly worry-free thanks to optimised components. The eSTOP system is based on the characteristics of the proven MT series and, when combined with SPORT pads and MDR-C or MDR-P brake discs, delivers even greater braking power and stability. . The innovative technology combines impeccable braking reliability with control. Thanks to the adjustable lever reach and the ergonomically designed two-finger brake levers, braking power can be precisely modulated. This makes every trail a pleasure. The Magura MT4 disc brake, featuring a more robust caliper and a swivelling hose connection. Significantly cheaper than the MT6 brakes and only 25 grams heavier. The new Magura brakes – MT8, MT6 and MT4 – come factory-fitted with a swivelling hose outlet on the spoke side to prevent damage and allow for neat hose routing on various frame designs.
Magura e Stop, e-bike optimised:
The eSTOP system consists of three components: the eSTOP brake models, optimised brake discs and the new SPORT brake pads. All components are perfectly matched to one another, thus offering maximum performance to meet the higher demands of e-bikes. The new brake discs are specially reinforced, offering increased lateral stiffness and heat resistance whilst reducing vibration. For the first time, the two-piece MDR-P is available in a 220 mm diameter to ensure consistently optimal braking performance even under heavy continuous load. The new brake disc diameter provides 10 per cent more braking power with the same lever force. All components are available as eSTOP brake sets, upgrade kits and individually.
Magura MT 4 e Stop brake lever:
the new MT4 brake levers with Carbontecture Master housing. The Magura MT brake levers can be mounted on the right or left
- Magura Carbotecture: A material newly developed by Magura, consisting of a high proportion of carbon fibres embedded in a thermoplastic matrix. More powerful, more tensile, more flexible and more fracture-resistant than conventional fibre-reinforced plastics or laminated carbon fibre mats. Ideally suited for processing using the Carboflow process.
- Magura Carboflow: A process newly developed by Magura that allows carbon fibres to be optimally aligned with the direction of stress. Produces homogeneous, predictable surfaces. Significant weight savings are possible, as there is no need for oversizing.
- Magura Carbolay: The fibres of the lever are stitched onto a carrier matrix before being coated with resin and cured.
Magura MT 4 e Stop brake caliper:
The Magura MT4 brake calipers are forged from a high-performance aluminium alloy and feature the new magnetiXchange brake pistons for easy pad replacement.
- Magura MagneticXchange: the magnetic brake pistons facilitate the fitting of the brake pads
- Magura Anti-Squeal: The combination of a specially formulated brake pad compound and brake disc design counteracts noise during braking.
- Magura Anti-Drag: Newly developed sealing rings and an adapted piston design ensure that, even when used in sub-zero temperatures or extremely muddy conditions, the pistons always return to their original position and do not rub against the disc.
- Magura Anti-Heat: The entire MT brake caliper system is designed to dissipate heat quickly into the surrounding environment, preventing a drop in performance.
- Magura RHR: The new Magura brakes, MT8, MT6 and MT4, come factory-fitted with a swivelling hose outlet on the spoke side to prevent damage and allow for neat hose routing on various frame designs.
Post Mount Caliper Standard:
The Post Mount caliper standard was developed for MTB disc brakes. The bolt spacing for mounting the calipers is 74 mm. This is why the standard is also known as Post Mount 74. These calipers can be mounted directly depending on the frame/fork mount and disc size. For larger discs and/or IS2000 mounts, an adapter is required. You will find these adapters and mount types listed below.
Magura Royal Blood:
Magura continues to rely on high-performance mineral oil as the brake fluid. It is completely harmless to health in the event of skin contact and, as it does not absorb water over time like DOT fluid, the bleeding intervals are significantly longer. For optimal performance, bleeding is required every 6–12 months, depending on frequency of use.
Magura MDR-P brake disc
The brake discs for e-bike use, Magura MDR-P with aluminium carrier and floating steel braking surface. The high-end brake disc featuring technology from the motorbike sector. More is better: thanks to their solid construction, the MDR-P discs offer outstanding heat dissipation and are therefore perfectly suited for use on e-bikes. Naturally, they are also recommended if you are looking for ultra-sturdy discs for enduro and DH use. The brake disc for e-bikes, downhill and all-mountain use. Also compatible with older Magura disc brakes. With the MDR-P, MAGURA presents a brake disc for performance-oriented riders and demanding conditions – from downhill and e-bikes to heavy cargo bikes. The two-piece disc saves weight compared to the MDR-C and is now available for the first time in a 220 mm diameter. A special feature of the two-piece disc is a patented interlocking mechanism between the outer and inner rings, known as Dovetail Interlink Technology. This interlocking mechanism provides additional support to the inner ring when the outer ring expands due to heat. Unlike floating discs, torque is thus transmitted across the entire surface rather than just via the rivets. The result is increased stiffness of the brake disc and particularly direct heat dissipation under sustained load. Thanks to this new technology, the MDR-P is the strongest brake disc in the MAGURA portfolio, yet offers low weight and reduced vibration, making it perfect for MTB gravity use.
Particularly robust, these are the ideal brake discs for high-load applications of Magura disc brakes on e-bikes, DH and all-mountain bikes. The high stability, heat resistance and low wear are ensured by a special steel alloy and the more solid construction. The thickness of the Magura Storm discs, at just 2 mm, ensures minimal pad wear and a quiet, smooth ride with maximum stability.
The MDR-P brake discs must not be fitted with a Centerlock adapter.
