Spare part: Sram Maven Bronze Stealth
The brake caliper for Sram Maven brakes. Compatible only with hydraulic Sram braking systems using mineral oil. Sram Maven Bronze Stealth 4-piston disc brake technology:
- Post-mount caliper with four pistons, 2 x 18 mm and 2 x 19.5 mm
- Brake pads: organic with steel backing
- Brake fluid: Sram Maxima mineral oil
Included:
- Sram Maven Bronze brake caliper, brake pads
SRAM Maven Silver brake caliper:
With four brake pistons measuring 19.5 mm and 18 mm in diameter, there’s no getting round it: the Maven’s brake pistons are simply massive and provide greater pressure against the pads for better friction with less effort. Huge brake pistons are of no use if the ratio of piston size to lever isn’t matched to them. The force is determined by the ratio between these piston sizes, and Maven offers excellent optimisation of these parameters. If you measure a brake caliper under load, you will notice that it bends. The four bolts on the Maven brake caliper housing aren’t just for decoration. They reduce power loss at the caliper, ensuring a confident feel at the lever. Maven brake pads are fitted from below. Why? This crucial design feature helps achieve the stiffness required to deliver this level of performance.
The Sram Maven Disc is supplied with post-mount brake calipers.
You can select the correct adapter for your fork and frame, as well as the brake disc sizes.
IS 2000: Side-mounted. An adapter is always required for fitting the Level Ultimate; maximum 200 mm, minimum 160 mm on the fork and 140 mm disc size on the frame. Common on older suspension forks and almost all rear triangle frames
Post Mount, PM5: Direct mounting of the brake caliper with 140 mm brake discs, no adapter required. Maximum 180 mm, minimum 140 mm disc size. Currently found only on rear triangle frames
Post Mount, PM6: Direct mounting of the brake caliper with 160 mm brake discs without an adapter. Maximum 200 mm, minimum 160 mm on the fork and 140 mm disc size on the frame. Currently the most common standard on forks, and on some rear triangle frames.
Post Mount, PM7: Direct mounting of the brake caliper with 180mm brake discs without an adapter. Maximum 200mm, minimum 180mm disc size. 140mm and 160mm disc sizes are not possible. Found on some enduro suspension forks such as the Magura Thor and on some rear triangle frames such as the Liteville 301.
Post Mount, PM8: Direct mounting of the brake caliper without an adapter, using 200mm brake discs. Can only be used with 200mm and 220mm brake discs. Found only on downhill suspension forks and frames
