Magura MDR-C brake disc:
Thanks to the additional connecting element, this one-piece, e-bike-optimised brake disc is particularly rigid, vibration-resistant and the ideal all-rounder. The ideal brake discs for e-bike, DH and all-mountain use of Magura disc brakes under high loads. High stability, heat resistance and low wear are ensured by a special steel alloy and the more robust construction. The thickness of the Magura discs, at just 2 mm, ensures minimal pad wear and silent operation with maximum stability
With the GUSTAV PRO, MAGURA achieves the perfect balance of power, stability and modulation. The extra-thick brake pads, with 40% more volume, and the thicker brake discs double the time until the next service. The larger air gap between the pad and the brake disc makes servicing in your workshop much easier. Thanks to the double oil volume in the reservoir, the GUSTAV PRO rarely needs bleeding, whilst the new bleed valve ensures simple and clean bleeding. Thanks to the MAGURA EASY LINK, hoses can be disconnected from the brake lever at any time without special tools, and shortening the hoses is also possible in a matter of seconds thanks to the EASY TUBE concept. The GUSTAV PRO is optimised like no other brake for use with Bosch ABS systems.
Magura Gustav Pro brake lever:
The GUSTAV PRO brake lever integrates perfectly into modern cockpits with a 0-degree hose outlet. With a 7 ml oil volume in the reservoir – almost twice as much as on the MT7 – MAGURA has done everything to ensure that bleeding is rarely necessary. It is even ABS-compatible. The new PRO brake lever on the GUSTAV is based on the HC-W brake lever developed in collaboration with Loic Bruni, featuring an adapted minimum reach setting. It offers a comfortable length to conserve hand strength whilst still providing a crisp feel at the pressure point. In the event of a crash, a predetermined breaking point on the grip surface ensures that the brake lever sustains less damage. Thanks to the bolted lever pivot point, changing levers is even quicker than usual. Integrated Shiftmix compatibility allows you to fit SRAM and Shimano shift levers to the GUSTAV.
Magura Gustav Pro brake caliper:
The solid, high-quality aluminium-forged four-piston brake caliper delivers concentrated braking power to the disc. Four pistons with a diameter of 19 mm handle this task. The one-piece design increases stiffness and ensures a very responsive feel. Compatible with 2.5 mm thick MDR-S brake discs and standard Magura discs with a thickness of 2 mm.
The 13.S brake pads have been fitted for optimum deceleration. They feature approximately 40% more material compared to the MT7 and ensure smooth and powerful braking, as well as extremely low wear. Furthermore, the special compound eliminates the need for a long bedding-in period.
Magura Easy Link hose connection:
Plug-and-play for your brake line: the quick and flexible way to disconnect and connect a line. And as often as you like. From model year 2025 onwards, EASY LINK is integrated into the GUSTAV, Clara and Louise brakes and is also available as a retrofit valve for MAGURA MT disc brakes. Once routed, you can simply click brake lines into the brake lever using EASY LINK. No need for bleeding or other steps! Thanks to EASY LINK, the brake caliper and lever of the GUSTAV PRO can be delivered separately and pre-filled. This makes it easier for you to replace them in the event of a fault or a crash.
Magura Royal Blood:
Magura continues to rely on high-performance mineral oil as the brake fluid. It is completely harmless to health in the event of skin contact and, as it does not absorb water over time like DOT fluid, bleeding intervals are significantly longer. For optimal performance, bleeding is required every 6–12 months, depending on frequency of use.
Magura The Gustav PRO forms the ideal pairing with the optionally available Magura MDR-S 2.5 discs. Thanks to their 2.5 mm thick friction ring, lasting stability is guaranteed even on long downhill runs. Furthermore, with this thickness, a diameter of 203 mm is entirely sufficient. Naturally, conventional brake discs can be used without any issues.
Magura warranty:
Naturally, Magura also provides its well-known 5-year leak-proof guarantee for the new brakes.
The Magura disc brake is supplied with post-mount calipers.
You can select the appropriate adapter for your frame and brake disc size. Currently, almost all frames comply with the PM standard.
IS 2000: Side mounting. An adapter is always required to fit the Magura MT7; maximum 203 mm, minimum 160 mm on the fork and 140 mm disc size on the frame. Common on older suspension forks and almost all rear triangle frames
Post Mount, PM5: Direct mounting of the Magura MT7 with 140 mm brake discs without an adapter. Maximum 180 mm, minimum 140 mm disc size. Currently found only on rear triangle frames
Post Mount, PM6: Direct mounting of the Magura MT7 with 160 mm brake discs without an adapter. Maximum 203 mm, minimum 160 mm on the fork and 140 mm disc size on the frame. Currently the most common standard on forks, and on some rear triangle frames.
Post Mount, PM7: Direct mounting of the Magura MT7 with 180mm brake discs without an adapter. Maximum 203mm, minimum 180mm disc size. 140mm and 160mm disc sizes are not possible. Found on some enduro suspension forks such as the Magura Thor and on some rear triangle frames such as the Liteville 301.
Post Mount, PM8: Direct mounting without an adapter for the Magura MT7 with 203mm brake discs. Can only be used with 203mm and 220mm brake discs. Found only on downhill suspension forks and frames
