Shimano SIS OTRS900 outer cable housing
The radius of the curved cable routed through the new Shimano road and gravel derailleurs is smaller compared to the radii produced with other derailleurs. The commonly used OT-SP41 outer casing is too stiff for such a small radius, which can cause technical problems with the cable adjustment screw and hinder the quick removal and refitting of the rear wheel. Using the OT-RS900 can prevent such problems, as the OT-RS900 has lower stiffness. The OT-RS900 should only be used on the rear derailleur side. It should not be used on the shifter/brake lever side. The length of the OT-RS900 should be adjusted accordingly depending on the bike frame size. This is necessary for optimal performance. When adjusting the length, the OT-RS900 should be cut from the correct side. One of the two ends is flame-treated. This flame-treated end is inserted into the adjustment screw of the front derailleur/rear derailleur and should therefore remain there.
