E-bike chain KMC E12 Titanium Nitride

KMC E12 chains are specially developed for use on e-bikes with higher torque and are extremely durable. The Double X-Durability treatment refers to a process in which all parts of the chain are specially hardened. This treatment makes the pins in particular highly resistant to dust and sand and significantly extends the service life. They are extremely lightweight, highly durable and very easy to fit with the MissingLink 12.

KMC’s titanium nitride technology involves a chemical compound of the elements titanium and nitrogen. The ceramic material, typically golden-yellow in colour, is characterised by very high hardness and corrosion resistance. KMC’s special titanium nitride coating therefore not only looks fantastic, it also has an ultra-smooth surface and is extremely durable.

The second generation of KMC 12-speed chains has been thoroughly redesigned, taking into account all market developments, to ensure that the X12, e12 and DLC12 chains remain compatible with the drivetrains of SRAM, Shimano, Campagnolo and other manufacturers. Due to the rapid development in the e-bike segment, we have fitted the DLC12 chains with reinforced pins to ensure they are approved for use on electric bikes.

The chain locks (missing links) on the 12-speed chains allow for easy and secure installation. A standard chain tool is required to cut the KMC chains to the correct length. The new 12-speed missing links are not reusable.
