Chris King ThreadFit 24:

At Chris King, the designation ThreadFit 24 refers to the inner diameter of the bearings, 24 mm. These bottom brackets are designed for frames with BSA threads and cranksets with 24 mm or 24–22 mm axles. To adapt the Chris King ThreadFit 24 bottom brackets for the various axles and installation widths, a conversion kit is still required. This allows the Chris King BSA bottom brackets to be adapted to all cranks with 24 mm, Shimano Hollowtech II, FSA MegaExo, Race Face X-Type and 24–22 mm, Sram GXP and all bottom bracket shell widths.

Chris King Ceramic Bearings:

Chris King’s ceramic bearings offer the same qualities in terms of durability, maintenance and performance as the tried-and-tested steel angular contact ball bearings. The key difference lies in the bearing balls used. One of the most outstanding features of the ceramic balls is their incredible geometric perfection and roundness; furthermore, the extremely smooth surface guarantees optimal rolling performance and precision fit. Furthermore, they are even lighter and harder. Embedded in external bearing cups, the multi-sealed ceramic bearings are therefore virtually indestructible.

Chris King develops and manufactures the ball bearings in Oregon, USA. Every single Chris King bearing is inspected and assembled by hand. Unlike conventional radial bearings, Chris King builds sealed angular contact bearings and equips them with significantly more balls than in conventional bearings. . Rather than wearing out, Chris King ball bearings, like a fine wine or a high-quality guitar, improve with age. All Chris King bearings can be serviced without special tools. Simply remove the retaining ring and seal, clean the bearing and re-lubricate it for a lifetime of reliable rolling.

BSA threaded bottom bracket shell

BSA bottom brackets have a width of 68–73 mm and a thread of 1.370 × 24 TPI, with an outer diameter of 33.6–33.9 mm, into which the bearing cups are screwed. Both bearing cups are screwed in the direction of travel. The spacers included in the delivery are used to adapt to the different shell widths.

Shimano Hollowtech II crank axle 24 mm / Road - MTB:

The Shimano Hollowtech II crankset system features a solid 24 mm axle. The road bike cranks have an axle length of 110 mm and the MTB cranks 120 mm. The respective bottom brackets are compatible with one another. The DH Saint and Zee cranks for 83 and 100 mm installation widths have longer axles and will only fit frames with correspondingly wider bottom bracket shells.

Sram GXP axle system:

The SRAM GXP crankset system with different axle diameters. The outer diameter of the axle on the drive side is 24 mm and 22 mm on the left side. GXP-compatible bottom brackets are required for this.

Race Face X-Type crank axle 24 mm:

The Race Face X-Type crankset features a solid 24 mm axle, similar to the Shimano Hollowtech II cranks. The X-Type MTB cranks for 73 mm and 68 mm bottom bracket shells have an axle length of 120 mm.

FSA MegaExo 24 mm / Road - MTB:

The FSA MegaExo crankset system has a 24 mm through-axle, similar to the Shimano Hollowtech II system. However, some models feature a 24.7 mm axle. These bottom brackets are not compatible with those models.
