Shimano SLX brake lever BL M7000:

The XT BLM 8000 brake levers, featuring a 1.5-finger lever for ergonomic handling, are suitable for direct mounting (I-Spec II) on the shift lever. The Shimano XT BR-M-8000 brake levers are equipped with the new Servo Wave System for even better responsiveness.

Shimano SLX brake caliper BR-M7000:

The SLX brake calipers always feature a Post Mount caliper and an adapter suitable for the disc size and fork. The Shimano SLX brake caliper BR-M7000 is torsion-resistant and approved for brake discs up to 203 mm.

Shimano I-Spec II Mounting:

The XT BLM 8000 disc brake levers are suitable for direct mounting (I-Spec II) with the SLM 8000 and SLM 9000 shift levers. This mounting system allows for space-saving installation of the shift levers directly onto the brake lever clamp.

Shimano changed the I-Spec mount to Type II for the 2016 system. You can recognise these by the addition of ‘II’ to the lever designation. Older Shimano I-Spec shift levers are not compatible with the new I-Spec II brake levers

Included with the Shimano SLX 7000 disc brake:

SLX Disc brake levers BL M7000 and brake caliper BR M7000 included, G02S or J04C IceTec brake pads, Shimano SHMB80 brake hose. The brakes are fully pre-assembled and bled; screws, washers and spare hose nipples are included.

The Shimano SLX Disc is supplied with Post Mount 6 brake calipers.

You can select the correct adapter for your fork and brake disc size.

IS 2000: Side mounting. An adapter is always required to fit the Shimano SLX Disc BR-M7000; maximum 203 mm, minimum 160 mm on the fork and 140 mm disc size on the frame. Common on older suspension forks and almost all rear triangle frames

Post Mount, PM5: Direct mounting of the Shimano SLX Disc BR-M7000 with 140 mm brake discs without an adapter. Maximum 180 mm, minimum 140 mm disc size. Currently only found on rear triangle frames

Post Mount, PM6: Direct mounting of the Shimano SLX Disc BR-M7000 with 160 mm brake discs without an adapter. Maximum 203 mm, minimum 160 mm on the fork and 140 mm disc size on the frame. Currently the most common standard on forks, and on some rear triangle frames.

Post Mount, PM7: Direct mounting without an adapter of the Shimano SLX Disc BR-M7000 with 180mm brake discs. Maximum 203mm, minimum 180mm disc size. 140 and 160 mm disc sizes are not possible. Found on some enduro suspension forks such as the Magura Thor and on some rear triangle frames such as the Liteville 301.

Post Mount, PM8: Direct mounting without an adapter for the Shimano SLX Disc BR-M7000 with 203mm brake discs. Can only be used with 203mm brake discs. Found only on downhill suspension forks and frames
