Sram Rival 1 brake lever and disc brake

The Rival 1 hydraulic disc brake offers optimised braking power and modulation for road and cyclocross bikes. The brake lever utilises the HydroR brake platform, with revised ergonomics for an even better grip. This means braking requires even less effort – regardless of the terrain and conditions.

EXACT ACTUATION™

When first introducing our road bike technologies, we once again drew on our proven SRAM MTB 1:1 gear ratio: travel to cable pull to derailleur movement. EXACT ACTUATION™ helps to create a simpler and more stable balance between the design of the derailleur hanger, tight sprocket spacing and precise cable tension. The result: a shifting system that’s a breeze to use – set it once and forget it.

Reach Adjust

The fit and ergonomics of the brake lever are a very personal matter. Riders have individual positioning preferences as well as unique hand sizes and finger lengths. With the reach adjustment, the lever can be adjusted with ease – for maximum control with just one finger.

Flat Mount Caliper Standard:

The Flat Mount Brake Caliper Standard was developed for road bike use, reduces weight and offers a significantly sleeker look. The Flat Mount brake calipers are only compatible with 140 and 160 mm brake disc diameters. The brake calipers are the same for the front and rear wheels.

An adapter is always required for front wheel installation, item no.: 00.5318.018.000. By turning the adapter, the available brake disc size can be changed between 140 and 160 mm.

For rear wheel installation, with a 140 mm disc size, the brake caliper is bolted directly onto the chainstay. An adapter is required for installation with 160 mm brake discs, item no.: 00.5318.018.001. Additionally, bolts are required to mount the brake caliper to the frame. The bolts pass through the chainstay from below directly into the brake caliper or into the adapter. These are also available in different lengths to suit the varying thicknesses of the frame’s rear stays.

Flat mount adapters from other manufacturers can also be used. However, the bolts vary depending on the manufacturer; please use only the original SRAM mounting bolts

• 1 x SRAM Rival 1 two-piece flat-mount brake caliper with organic brake pads, including rear springs
• Brake hose and adapter are included
