Shimano Ultegra ST6800 shift/brake lever
The new Shimano Ultegra 11-speed components from the 6800 series are modelled on the high-end 9000 Dura-Ace 11-speed series in terms of both technology and design, and thanks to slightly simpler materials, offer affordable, lightweight and durable 11-speed road bike components with the same high-quality technology.
Shimano Ultegra ST-6800 Dual Control:
The brake levers are made from multi-layer carbon, with a top layer of unidirectional carbon featuring a special coating. This technology guarantees maximum stiffness, durability and a lightweight design. Thanks to the improved positioning of the brake cable, a smooth braking action is achieved, leading to optimised control in extreme conditions. The routing of the shift cables has also been redesigned. These are concealed beneath the handlebar tape without any loss of performance. This is made possible by a redesign of the internal mechanism in combination with new PTFE-coated cables. A grip width adjustment allows the Dual Control shift/brake levers to be optimally adapted to the rider and makes them very well suited for riders with small hands. The new shift levers allow for significantly faster shifting. This is achieved through a 20 per cent shorter cable pull. The levers feature an ergonomic design for improved comfort – even over long distances.
