Shimano GRX 800 Upgrade Kit

The top-of-the-range GXR upgrade kit, based on Shimano Ultegra technology, for 11 x 1-speed drivetrains with an 11-speed shift-brake lever and a left-hand brake lever without shift function, featuring the GXR rear derailleur RDRX812 for 11-40 or 11 –42-tooth cassettes or the RDRX810 for 11–30 or 11–34-tooth cassettes

Shimano GRX, the new gravel components designed for 11-speed drivetrains and cassettes up to 42 teeth. With the new 48/31-tooth crankset, the GRX components offer a wide gear range for a variety of applications, from gravel and cyclocross to touring. Shimano GRX, the first gravel-specific component family designed equally for speed and safe bike handling on loose surfaces, is the result of an intensive and extensive research, testing and development process that incorporated information and feedback from countless riders who are out and about on trails, forest tracks, gravel roads or tarmac. Whether it’s gravel riding in the strictest sense, road bike adventures off-road, bikepacking, commuting or the demands of competitive cyclocross riders: Shimano’s GRX components offer countless options that leave nothing to be desired, from gear ratios and spacing, customisable ergonomics and integrated control of dropper seatposts right through to specific gravel wheelsets with wider rim profiles. Either the 11-speed road or 11-speed MTB cassettes can be used.

Shimano GRX rear derailleur RD-RX812:

The Shimano RD-RX812 is designed for 11x1 drivetrains with a maximum cassette size of 42 teeth. The GRX rear derailleurs are characterised by quiet, smooth, precise and reliable shifting, even on the most demanding terrain, thanks primarily to the chain stabilisation system known as Shadow RD+. The new GRX rear derailleurs now feature the Shimano Shadow RD+ stabiliser mechanism, which stabilises the chain particularly on rough, uneven surfaces. As with Shimano mountain bike rear derailleurs, the switch for this Shadow RD+ friction damper is located on the top of the derailleur body. In the ‘On’ position, the forward and backward movement of the derailleur cage is extremely restricted, thereby reducing chain slap and the risk of the chain coming off or mis-shifting, as well as minimising noise.

Shimano GRX Rear Derailleur RD-RX810:

The Shimano RD-RX810 is designed for 11x2-speed and single-speed drivetrains with a maximum cassette size of 34 teeth. The GRX rear derailleurs are characterised by quiet, smooth, precise and reliable shifting, even on the most demanding terrain, thanks primarily to the chain stabilisation system known as Shadow RD+. The new GRX rear derailleurs now feature the Shimano Shadow RD+ stabiliser mechanism, which stabilises the chain particularly on rough, uneven surfaces. As with Shimano mountain bike rear derailleurs, the switch for this Shadow RD+ friction damper is located on the top of the derailleur body. In the ‘On’ position, the forward and backward movement of the derailleur cage is extremely restricted, thereby reducing chain slap and the risk of the chain coming off or mis-shifting, as well as minimising noise.

Shimano STI ST RX810 Disc Lever:

The 11-speed STI Disc ST-RX810 brake and gear lever, is very compact, designed for hydraulic disc brakes and mechanical shifting systems. Its ergonomics, specially adapted for gravel use, are characterised by a brake lever pivot point raised by 18 mm, a curved lever shape and non-slip textures on the contact surfaces, ensuring optimum grip even on the roughest terrain. These disc brake levers are based on Ultegra STI technology and are compatible with Shimano’s mechanical Dura-Ace 9000, Ultegra 7000 and 105 7000 11-speed groupsets. Shimano’s engineers have succeeded in integrating a mineral oil cylinder, including a complete braking system, into these nevertheless very compact mechanical shift-brake levers. The brake levers are made from aluminium; this technology guarantees maximum stiffness, durability and a robust design. Thanks to the improved positioning of the brake cable, a smooth braking action is achieved, leading to optimised control in extreme conditions. The Dual Control shift/brake levers can be optimally adjusted to the rider via a grip width adjustment and are also very well suited for riders with small hands. Shifting can be performed much faster with the new shift levers. This is achieved through a 20 per cent shorter cable. The grips feature an ergonomic design for greater comfort – even over long distances. The GRX STI levers can be combined with the BLRX812 auxiliary brake levers. These are mounted between the shift levers and the brake on the top tube, just like classic cross-country brake levers. This ensures full control over the bike in every riding situation.

Shimano BL-RX810 Disc Brake Levers:

The BL-RX810 disc brake lever is a very compact brake lever for hydraulic disc brakes and 11x1 drivetrains. The left lever has no shifting function. Ergonomics specially adapted for gravel riding are characterised by a pivot point on the brake lever raised by 18 mm, a curved lever shape and non-slip textures on the contact surfaces, which ensure optimum grip even on the roughest terrain. These disc brake levers are based on the technology of the Ultegra series, but without the shifting mechanism. Shimano’s engineers have succeeded in integrating a mineral oil cylinder, including the complete braking system, into these disc brake levers, which remain very compact. The brake levers are made of aluminium; this technology guarantees maximum stiffness, durability and a robust design. The GRX brake levers can also be combined with the BLRX812 auxiliary brake levers. These are mounted on the top tube between the shift levers and the brake, just like classic cross-country brake levers. This ensures full control over the bike in every riding situation.

Shimano BR-RX810 disc brake caliper:

The BR-RX810 road bike disc brake caliper is torsionally rigid and approved for brake discs up to 160 mm. Equipped with brake pads featuring external cooling fins, brake heat is reliably dissipated. These calipers are compatible with all Shimano disc brake levers. Recommended brake discs: SM-RT800, SM-RT86

Flat Mount Standard:

The new Flat Mount caliper standard for road bike brakes reduces weight and offers a significantly sleeker look. With the Flat Mount Standard, the rear brake caliper sits directly on the chainstay; no adapter is required for mounting the brake caliper. The bolts pass through the chainstay from below directly into the brake caliper. A flat adapter is still required on the fork. The adapter is screwed onto the rear of the fork leg, and the brake sits directly on the adapter.
