Shimano XT Disc Brake T8100 I Spec II
The Shimano XT Disc T8100 disc brake for MTB and trekking use with the I Spec II handlebar clamp. The ideal brake for Shimano 11-speed gear systems.
Shimano Deore XT Brake Lever BL T8100:
The XT BLT 8000 brake levers, featuring a 3-finger lever for ergonomic handling, are suitable for direct mounting (I Spec II) of the shift levers. The brake levers follow the design of the XTR brake levers and are also mounted at an angle rather than parallel to the handlebar, so that they are supported at a second point on the handlebar in addition to the clamp, making them significantly stiffer than before. For individual adjustment, the levers are equipped with a tool-free grip width adjustment.
Shimano Deore XT Brake Caliper BR M8120:
The XT brake calipers always feature the Post Mount caliper and a matching adapter for the disc size and fork. The Deore XT brakes are available both as XC-specific two-piston brakes and as four-piston brakes for trail/enduro. The four-piston version, on the other hand, is a completely new development, whose design is based on its big sister from the XTR M9100 series, with which it also shares the N03A brake pads (resin with cooling fins) and N04C brake pads (metal with cooling fins). It is also compatible with the D03S pads (resin without cooling fins) and D02S pads (metal without cooling fins).
Shimano I-Spec II mounting:
The XT BL T8100 disc brake levers are suitable for direct mounting (I-Spec II) with the SLM 8000 and SLM 9000 shift levers. This mounting system allows for space-saving installation of the shift levers directly onto the brake lever clamp.
Shimano changed the I-Spec mount to Type II for the 2016 system. You can recognise these by the addition of ‘II’ to the lever designation. Older Shimano I-Spec shift levers are not compatible with the new I-Spec II brake levers
