Sram RED XPLR AXS E1 13-speed rear derailleur |RD-RED-1E-E1
The lightweight and particularly robust RED XPLR 13-speed rear derailleur, compatible with the UDH mount. The Sram AXS 13-speed components are only compatible with 13-speed cassettes and chains. Any AXS shift lever can be used.
Suitable only for frames with UDH specification (Universal Derailleur Interface), an interface without a derailleur hanger; the rear derailleur cannot be fitted to frames with conventional derailleur hangers.
Gravel demands just about everything from your bike, and the RED XPLR AXS rear derailleur handles it all with ease. When faced with sticks, stones and airport luggage, the full-mount rear derailleur for frames with a UDH interface is the most robust and reliable gravel drivetrain available. With no adjustment screws, setting it up is easier than ever. And with the Magic Wheel, you’re prepared for any surprises, as the durable lower pulley keeps the chain moving at all times. This 1x unit, developed specifically for gravel, focuses on precise shifting and chain management, no matter the terrain or conditions.

The Full Mount RED XPLR AXS rear derailleur, attached to the frame via the UDH interface, eliminates various variables by centring itself on the rear axle, thereby ensuring a precise fit and outstanding impact resistance. It is simpler, stronger and requires no derailleur hanger at all.
The stresses on gravel bike rear derailleurs are significantly higher than on road bikes. Not only impacts from the ground, but also flying stones and sticks can easily damage the rear derailleur. That is why SRAM has incorporated some technologies from the proven Transmission mountain bike rear derailleurs into the development of the new RED XPLR rear derailleur. Thanks to the full-mount design for attachment to frames with a UDH hanger, the rear derailleur is significantly more robust and durable than the previous version. The rear derailleur can automatically absorb hard impacts by briefly disengaging. Should a component ever be damaged, numerous parts can be replaced. The rear derailleur has been specifically designed and optimised for use with the RED XPLR 10-46-tooth cassette. With no need for adjustment screws, setting up the rear derailleur is easier than ever. Thanks to the spring-loaded clutch, inspired by mountain bike technology, the chain stays securely on the chainring even under the harshest vibrations. Another highlight is the lower Magic Wheel pulley, adopted from Transmission rear derailleurs. It keeps the chain moving, even if a stick blocks the pulley
UDH, Universal Derailleur Hanger, Interface:
UDH stands for Universal Derailleur Hanger and is a standard for derailleur hangers that unifies the multitude of existing standards. The aim of the UDH is to reduce the complexity of finding replacement derailleur hangers for bikes by using a standardised design. Sram UDH rear derailleurs are mounted directly onto the frame without a derailleur hanger. This guarantees maximum torsional stiffness and always ensures the perfect position relative to the cassette. Of course, it is essential that your frame has a UDH derailleur hanger or the UDH interface.
