Shimano XTR FDM 9020 front derailleur
The new Shimano XTR 11-speed components, designed for use ranging from cross-country to enduro. Available with a crankset featuring 1–3 chainrings and an 11-speed cassette with an 11–40 tooth range.
Shimano XTR FD-M9020 Side Swing front derailleur:
The XTR 11-speed FD-M9020 front derailleur utilises a completely new front derailleur system: Side-Swing technology delivers 100 per cent better shifting performance. Designed specifically with modern trail bikes in mind, the Side-Swing derailleur offers 15 mm more clearance between the seat tube and the tyre, whilst the completely new and optimised cable routing and control drastically reduces the force required for shifting.
Shimano XTR FD-M9020 Side Pull derailleur:
These XTR Side Pull derailleurs are only compatible with frames designed for them. The shift cable is routed from the front and the outer cable housing is routed all the way to the derailleur.
Shimano XTR E Type - S3 Direct Mount Front Derailleur:
These front derailleurs are mounted either directly onto frames designed for this purpose; the bolt spacing is 22.1 mm, horizontal, and, unlike the S2 front derailleurs, features an offset at the mounting point. The second mounting method is the Shimano E-Type. This requires the additional mounting plate, part no. Y5M550000. For both mounting methods, the respective frame must be prepared by the manufacturer.
Shimano XTR 9020 Front Derailleur Compatibility:
The new Shimano 11-speed XTR front derailleur series is only compatible with the XTR 11-speed RDM9000 rear derailleurs and SLM9000 shift levers. The HG-900 chain is recommended. The 11-speed XTR cassettes are also compatible with 9-10-speed Shimano-compatible freehub bodies.
