Chris King Headset Spacer
The Chris King spacer set for 1 1/8-inch headsets in black. To complement the Chris King NoThreadSet and Inset headsets, Chris King offers these colour-coordinated and perfectly flat-milled spacers.
The function of spacers is often underestimated, and poor manufacturing can lead to damaged headsets. The spacers act as the connecting link between the stem and the headset cap, transferring the clamping force from the stem to the headset. Spacers that are not machined perfectly flat will then exert pressure on one side of the bearing, causing it to fail relatively quickly. Unlike the currently popular carbon spacers, Chris King’s aluminium spacers are completely pressure-resistant, which is very important for permanently adjusting the headset to be free of play.
