Ritchey WCS Drop-In Headset

Ritchey also offers the WCS headsets separately, as upper and lower cups. This allows you to assemble the correct headset for different frame types

The WCS version of the Ritchey headset is fully equipped with high-quality industrial bearings. The well-sealed tapered precision bearing at the bottom and the compact precision bearing at the top are very easy to adjust and run with almost no resistance. Unlike press-fit headsets, the Drop-In models do not have additional bearing cups but are inserted directly into the frame.

Ritchey WCS headset bearings:

The full-contact bearings with titanium-coated raceways, combined with high-quality, exceptionally smooth balls and Ritchey’s water-repellent special grease, ensure extremely durable bearings.

IS headset system:

The IS headsets are inserted into the head tube and require no additional bearing cups. The frame’s head tube also serves as the bearing cup for the headset

IS42/30 headset bottom clearance:

The bottom dimension is 42 mm and the headset taper on the fork is 30 mm, 1 1/8 inches.
