Cane Creek Forty Headset

The Cane Creek Forty IS42 headset top tube for frames with a 42 mm internal diameter at the head tube and forks with a 1 1/8 inch / 28.6 mm steerer tube diameter at the top.

IS42/28.6 top thread:

The IS headset is inserted into the top of the head tube; the frame clearance is 42 mm and the fork steerer tube diameter is 1 1/8 inch / 28.6 mm at the top.

IS/Integrated Standard – fully integrated headset:

Headset assemblies designated IS / Integrated Standard are also referred to as fully integrated headsets. These headsets require a frame designed for this purpose, featuring a raceway for the bearings. ‘Integrated Standard’ refers to the fact that the bearings are inserted into the head tube without bearing cups, whilst ‘IS44’, for example, denotes the installation dimension, the outer diameter of the bearings and the inner diameter of the bearings within the frame. These headsets do not require any special tools; the frame is already prepared for them.
