IS41/28.6 top thread:

The IS headset is inserted into the head tube at the top; the installation dimension in the frame is 41 mm and the fork steerer tube diameter is 1 1/8 inch / 28.6 mm at the top.

IS52/40 bottom thread:

The IS headset is inserted into the head tube at the bottom; the frame clearance is 52 mm and the fork steerer tube diameter is 1.5 inches at the bottom. The headset cone requires a 40 mm seat on the fork at the bottom.

IS/Integrated Standard – fully integrated headset:

Head sets designated IS / Integrated Standard are also referred to as fully integrated head sets. These head sets require a frame designed for this purpose with a raceway for the bearings. Integrated Standard refers to the fact that the bearings are inserted into the head tube without bearing cups, and, for example, IS41/28.6 refers to the installation dimensions: outer diameter of the bearings and inner diameter of the bearings in the frame. These headsets do not require any special tools; the frame is already prepared for them.
