Cane Creek Hellbender 70
With the Hellbender Series 70, Cane Creek has bridged the gap between the Series 40 and Series 110. The Hellbender features all the design characteristics, sealing elements and bearings found in the premium Series 110, at an unbeatable price. Available in a wide range of configurations, as upper and lower cups or as a complete headset for almost any fork and head tube configuration.
Cane Creek bearings:
Fitted with high-quality stainless steel cartridge bearings, designed to protect all components from dirt and corrosion through multiple seals. This not only maximises service life but also minimises maintenance intervals. The prerequisites for a worry-free and unobtrusive headset.
ZS44/28.6 top thread:
The ZS headset is pressed into the top of the head tube; the press-fit dimension in the frame is 44 mm and the fork steerer tube diameter is 1 1/8 inch / 28.6 mm at the top.
EC44/40 bottom installation dimension:
The EC headset is pressed into the head tube at the bottom; the press-fit dimension in the frame is 44 mm and the fork steerer tube diameter is 1.5 inches at the bottom. The headset cone requires a 40 mm seat on the fork at the bottom.
ZS/Zero Stack – semi-integrated headset:
Headset sets designated ZS / Zero Stack are also referred to as semi-integrated headsets. They require a frame designed for this purpose with an exact match for the bearing cups. Zero Stack refers to the minimal protrusion of the bearing cups from the head tube, whilst ZS44, for example, refers to the installation dimensions: the outer diameter of the bearing cups and the inner diameter of the bearing cups within the frame. These headsets can usually be fitted without special tools; the frame simply needs to be cleanly pre-milled.
EC/External Cup – external headset:
Headset assemblies designated EC / External Cup are also referred to as external or classic headsets. These headsets require a frame designed for this purpose with an exact fit for the bearing cups. ‘External Cup’ refers to the relatively large projection of the bearing cups beyond the head tube, whilst, for example, ‘EC44’ refers to the installation dimension, the outer diameter of the bearing cup and the inner diameter of the bearing cups within the frame. The headsets must be fitted using a special tool; the frame must be cleanly pre-milled.
