The GripNut headset brings the proven Chris King quality to older frames that feature a threaded steerer tube instead of the Ahead standard commonly used today.

A clamping sleeve between the adjustment nut and lock nut secures the steerer tube rock-solid, even if its thread is damaged or it has been sawn off slightly too short. Due to this design, the GripNut headset is not suitable for bicycles with spacers or brake cable stops between the adjustment nut and lock nut.

The GripNut headset is pressed into the head tube. The press-fit dimension in the frame is 34 mm, the fork steerer tube diameter is 1 1/8 inch / 28.6 mm, and the thread on the fork steerer tube has a pitch of 26 tpi. The fork’s tapered ring has a diameter of 30 mm.
