DT Swiss 180 EXP Straightpull Hub

The absolute top-of-the-range hubs from DT Swiss. Fitted with Sinc Ceramic ball bearings with rust-free raceways. Lighter, stiffer, more precise and easier to maintain – these are the strengths of the 180 hub, which has been further developed with the new RATCHET EXP technology. The super-reliable freehub system ensures direct power transmission without losses. The Sinc Ceramic ball bearings are not only lighter and maintenance-free but also further reduce rolling resistance. Also approved for radial lacing. The first-class 180 hub impresses with its highly developed Ratchet EXP technology, which makes the hub particularly light, stiff and precise and enables simple, tool-free maintenance. Equipped with low-friction SINC Ceramic bearings, it also operates extremely efficiently and transfers power directly to the road. The hub is available exclusively as a 180 SPLINE for the installation of straight-pull spokes.

DT Swiss StraightPull EXP hubs:

The DT Swiss StraightPull EXP hub bodies are constructed using a minimal amount of material, allowing them to be lightweight yet sturdy. Thanks to the new EXP technology, the hub body could be designed wider, which significantly benefits the wheel’s lateral stiffness and durability. The straight-pull lacing allows for precise placement and alignment of the spokes. This optimises wheel stiffness and eliminates any unwanted stress peaks. With a crossed lacing pattern, the spoke anchoring is designed so that the forces introduced almost cancel each other out. In this way, the precision of the bearing race can be increased and the service life of the ball bearings further extended.

DT Swiss Sinc ceramic ball bearings:

have been developed by DT Swiss as a system. They are based on balls made from the ceramic material silicon nitride, Si3N4, which is extremely durable and resistant to wear and corrosion. The bearing rings are made from a specially developed steel alloy adapted to the properties of the ceramic material and are precision-ground. This combination reduces rolling resistance to an absolute minimum and ensures a longer service life compared to conventional ball bearings. But it is not just the bearing itself that is designed as a system. It is only through the adjustment of tolerances in the thousandth-of-a-millimetre range, precisely matched to the tolerances of the bearing seats in DT Swiss hubs, that SINC Ceramic bearings deliver their full performance and offer a decisive advantage over competing products.

DT Swiss 180 EXP rear hubs 12x142mm:

The DT Swiss EXP rear hubs can be easily converted to fit standard mountings: 10 x 135 mm quick-release, 12 x 135 mm and 12 x 142 mm thru-axle mountings. The new end cap mount is compatible with previous classic designs, meaning that, depending on the freehub body version, rare mounts such as 12x135 mm or 10x135 mm thru-bolt can also be accommodated.

The proven DT Swiss Star Ratchet System in the new EXP version, featuring a toothed disc freehub body, allows for easy conversion to various rotor standards.
