The DT Swiss 240 EXP Straightpull hubs offer minimal weight combined with exceptional durability – a rarity, particularly in hub construction. The new axle system, with 15 per cent greater support width, increases hub stiffness. The ‘EXP’ in the DT Swiss 240 EXP hubs stands for the integration of the tooth ring and threaded ring, which reduces the number of components and thus the weight. A single coil spring ensures faster, complete engagement and thus greater reliability. The full interlocking of the ring gears creates a large contact surface and thus low point loads, resulting in superior reliability. The stainless steel ball bearings have proven to be extremely reliable and durable since the introduction of the 240 hubs. The patented freehub body operates with interlocking toothed discs. This guarantees loss-free power transmission. Straightpull refers to straight, non-offset spokes. Thanks to this technology, it is possible to achieve an ideal balance between weight and stability. Straightpull spokes allow for very precise alignment and optimised positioning within the wheel, resulting in a stiffer and more responsive wheel.

DT Swiss Straightpull:

• Straightpull spoke positioning: Straightpull lacing allows for precise placement and alignment of the spokes. This optimises wheel stiffness and eliminates any unwanted stress peaks.
• Straightpull hub shell: DT Swiss straight pull hub shells require minimal material, allowing them to be constructed to be lightweight yet stable.
• Straightpull lacing pattern: With crossed lacing, the spokes are positioned so that the forces introduced almost cancel each other out. This increases the precision of the bearing race and further extends the service life of the ball bearings.

The proven DT Swiss Star Ratchet System in the new EXP version, featuring a toothed disc freehub body, allows for easy conversion to various rotor standards.

DT Swiss 240 EXP rear hubs 12x142mm:

The DT Swiss EXP rear hubs can be easily converted to fit standard mountings: 10 x 135 mm quick-release, 10 x 135 mm thru-bolt, 12 x 135 mm and 12 x 142 mm thru-axle mountings. The new end cap mount is compatible with previous classic designs, allowing even rare mounts such as 12x135 mm or 10x135 mm thru-bolt to be used.
