The DT Swiss 350 DEG rear hub with the new freehub body system. In order to achieve a different engagement angle compared to previous options, the hub design on the drive side had to be fundamentally changed. The Ratchet DEG system and the new freehub body now allow the installation of size-optimised 72-tooth sprockets. With the 350 hubs, DT Swiss offers affordable, durable and technically high-quality hubs. From road bike to downhill versions, the 350 hub range is designed for maximum durability. DT Swiss Ratchet DEG Freehub Body System:

The patent-pending Ratchet DEG system is based on a different approach to conventional freewheel systems. It operates with a smaller engagement angle, thereby offering the greatest possible reliability. The simultaneous engagement of the pawls results in a larger contact area than with ratchet hubs – and thus a more even distribution of the load. The two enlarged pawls have 72 teeth. At just 5º, they offer the smallest engagement angle of any hub in the DT Swiss range. On the trail, this leads to reduced pedal kickback. The reduced crank play allows for more direct acceleration, for example when exiting corners. It also makes it possible to adjust the position of the pedals more quickly. This is particularly relevant when it comes to avoiding obstacles on a technically demanding uphill trail.

The steel DEG chainrings are larger than on all previous DT Swiss models. They are designed to make it easier even for the strongest riders to transfer power over the long term and across a large contact area.

The freehub bodies are available as HG10 for 8, 9, 10 and 11-speed Shimano HG MTB and Sram PG MTB cassettes, as Sram XD for Sram 11 and 12-speed XG cassettes, and as Micro Spline for Shimano 12-speed MTB cassettes
