SON 28 15 110 disc 6-hole
The SON 28 for 15x110 mm Boost thru-axle fitting. Until now, the discerning cyclist had to choose between the two. The thru-axle stiffens the suspension fork and allows for more precise positioning of the hub, which is particularly beneficial for disc brakes. The weight has been kept pleasingly low at 460 g. The new SON 28 resembles the SONdelux in design and appearance. In the standard version, the flange spacing and bearing spacing are increased by 12 mm and 10 mm respectively compared to the SONdelux. Compared to the SON 28 Classic model years 2000 to 2011, idle losses have been reduced by approx. 15 per cent and the weight by 140 g.
Son 28 Dynamo:
The SON Schmidt Original Hub Dynamo, 28 Hub Dynamo, has been the standard for high-quality, fail-safe bicycle lighting for years and, as a result of its design, remains unmatched even by new products from much larger companies. The secret lies in its gearless construction using high-quality materials and the adherence to tight tolerances, which is likely only achievable through handcrafting by a dedicated small team. The dynamo is simply switched off electrically. Thanks to optimisation, the no-load losses when switched off amount to just 1 watt and are imperceptible even to the most sensitive cyclists whilst riding.
