Schmidt Edelux II DC e-bike lamp for 6 to 75 volts, up to 90 lux, colour: black, 140 cm coaxial cable, ready for installation
Schmidt Son Edelux II DC bicycle light
With the Edelux II DC, e-bike owners can now also enjoy the phenomenal light output of the tried-and-tested Edelux II headlight. The direct current is supplied via the e-bike’s battery. Both systems with a voltage of over 6 volts and 6-volt systems with a low current limit are supported. The Edelux II DC must not be connected to standard hub dynamos, as these generate alternating current.

Schmidt Edelux II DC optics:
The Edelux uses the IQ-Tec offset reflector from Busch & Müller. Unlike conventional headlight optics, this captures a very high proportion of the light emitted by the LED and ensures a wide and evenly illuminated path. Thanks to a sharp cut-off line at the front edge, glare for oncoming cyclists is avoided. Minimal upward light scatter means low indirect self-glare in foggy conditions. The black ring around the edge of the reflector prevents direct self-glare when the headlight is positioned within your own field of vision. Precise adjustment of each LED and bench testing of every headlight ensure consistent quality. The anti-reflective front lens is scratch-resistant and transmits 6 per cent more light than a plastic lens.
Schmidt Edelux II DC Heat dissipation, mechanics, electrics:
The efficiency and service life of the LED depend primarily on its cooling. The LED is therefore mounted directly on a solid copper heat sink, which in turn transfers the heat to the aluminium housing. This effective cooling ensures 20 per cent more luminous flux at high speeds compared to conventional LED headlights, where the LED can sometimes reach temperatures in excess of 100 degrees. The entire interior of the headlamp, including the switch contact, is protected against the ingress of moisture and dirt by means of an O-ring. Electrical contacts are soldered and encapsulated. The magnetic switch ring with a large tab is indestructible, rattle-free and allows for blind switching even when wearing thick gloves. In sensor mode, the light switches on automatically at dusk without being affected by street lights or vehicle headlights. The robust, low-loss coaxial cable can withstand rough handling.
