The electronic Sram Red eTap 11x2-speed road bike components with wireless data transmission. The Sram Red eTap shifting components use 128-bit encryption. Rolling codes and strict pairing protocols ensure the necessary security during shifting. This guarantees secure communication between the components. Another innovation that SRAM has designed specifically for this groupset is the wireless system called Airea. This is a standalone system that has nothing to do with ANT+, Bluetooth or WiFi, but covers exactly the functions that SRAM wanted to support. Only the rear derailleur features ANT+ to enable communication with computers and power meters.
