The Adaptive 3D saddle padding is manufactured using carbon and the revolutionary Digital Light Synthesis (DLS) technology. DLS is an additive manufacturing process that uses digital ultraviolet light projection, oxygen-permeable optics and programmable liquid resins to produce parts with outstanding mechanical properties, resolution and surface finish. Both in the Fizik laboratories and under real-world conditions, each new variant has been carefully tested with professional and amateur riders. Significant attention has been paid to understanding how pressure patterns change depending on different bike geometries, riding positions and riding styles.

The evolution of digital 3D printing enabled the development of a new saddle without the constraints or limitations imposed by conventional manufacturing processes and materials. The Adaptive saddle padding is manufactured by Carbon using the revolutionary Digital Light Synthesis (DLS) technology. DLS is an additive manufacturing process that uses digital ultraviolet light projection, oxygen-permeable optics and programmable liquid resins to produce parts with outstanding mechanical properties, resolution and surface finish. With the help of Carbon’s technology, biomechanics experts and engineers are presented with an unprecedented opportunity: they can design and manufacture multiple functional zones within the saddle and tailor each of these zones separately to specific mechanical properties, with each of these key functional zones featuring characteristic damping and mechanical response that are progressively and seamlessly integrated within the same padding. The saddle is very easy to clean. Even for the dirtiest road grime, all you need to do is hose it down with water. Whatever gets in, comes right back out. We have subjected it to the toughest tests by simulating accelerated weathering, UV ageing and wear resistance in accordance with strict protocols.

The Antares saddles have been developed for riders who adopt a sporty yet comfortable riding position and like to vary their position. The nose of the saddle is more heavily padded and the seat surface is slightly wider and flatter, whilst the rear of the saddle rises slightly. This ensures good pressure distribution and support when the saddle is set at a moderately raised position.

The Wing Flex shell flexes downwards in the critical area where the inner thighs come into contact with the saddle, enabling a more efficient and complete range of motion when pedalling.
