Shimano XT SL-M8000 I Spec B shift lever
The new Shimano XT 11-speed components, designed for use ranging from cross-country to enduro. Available with a crankset featuring 1–3 chainrings and an 11-speed cassette with a 11–40 or 11–42-tooth range. One of the major advantages of the XT 8000 series is the compatibility of the cassettes with conventional rear wheels. The XT 11-speed cassettes can be fitted to all freehubs designed for 9- and 10-speed Shimano MTB cassettes.
Shimano SL-M8000 Rapidfire shift lever:
The XT Rapidfire 11-speed shift levers SL-M-8000-I are designed for direct mounting on older Shimano disc brake levers with the I-Spec Type B mount. This saves weight and creates plenty of space on the handlebars. The further optimised, ergonomic design of the Shimano XT SL-M8000 Rapidfire shifters literally takes shifting to a new level. The shifters feature a dual-textured, non-slip surface and are equipped with all the latest high-end technologies such as Multi-Release, Instant-Release and 2-Way-Release.
Shimano I-Spec Type B mounting:
The shift levers are suitable for direct mounting (I-Spec Type B) onto Shimano disc brake levers. This mounting system allows for space-saving installation of the shift levers directly onto the brake lever clamp. Shimano changed the I-Spec mount for the 2014 system to Type B. You can recognise this by the addition of the letter ‘B’ to the lever designation.
Shimano XT 8000 Shift Lever Compatibility:
The new Shimano 11-speed XTR shift lever series is only compatible with XT and XTR 11-speed rear derailleurs and front derailleurs. The HG-800 chain is recommended. The 11-speed XT cassettes are also compatible with 9-10-speed Shimano-compatible freehub bodies.
