Compatibility:

The SRAM Rival AXS HDR Disc shifter is compatible with all AXS rear derailleurs and front derailleurs, road and MTB. SRAM Flat Mount brake calipers can be used. Even if you only want to use a single chainring, you will need both a right and a left shifter, as each lever has only one switch

All in one: effortless braking with just one finger and completely wireless shifting with unrivalled ergonomics. We’ve designed our shift-brake unit with a higher brake lever pivot point, so you need around 80% less force when braking from the top-bar position than before. But because braking performance is only part of the equation, we’ve expanded the grip width adjustment range whilst eliminating the risk of pinching your fingers during hard braking. SRAM AXS technology

AXS is the electronic integration platform that connects SRAM’s electronic bike components and software. AXS components communicate wirelessly using 128-bit encryption. Each time a groupset comprising, for example, shift levers, a front derailleur and a rear derailleur is paired, a unique code is generated to prevent interference with other cyclists. The SRAM AXS app allows you to check battery status, adjust component behaviour, customise controllers, receive maintenance reminders and update the firmware. This app is available free of charge from the App Store for iOS and Android

SRAM Rival AXS brake caliper:

The disc brakes from the Rival eTap AXS series, designed for disc sizes up to 160 mm. The hydraulic SRAM disc brake offers optimum braking performance with minimal lever force and precise modulation. The loss of force and friction caused by cable transmission in traditional cable-actuated brakes is eliminated with this system. Braking performance remains consistent in all weather conditions. Thanks to the separation of the rim/tyre and the braking surface, issues with heat build-up are elegantly resolved. Sram uses DOT 5.1 fluid as the brake fluid, which is particularly heat-resistant. The Rival AXS brake calipers feature a straight hose connection.

Flat Mount Standard:

The new Flat Mount caliper standard for road bike brakes reduces weight and offers a significantly sleeker look. With the Flat Mount standard, the rear caliper sits directly on the chainstay, with a bolt spacing of 35 mm; no adapter is required for caliper mounting. The bolts pass through the chainstay from below directly into the brake caliper. A flat adapter is still required on the fork; the fork mount has a bolt spacing of 75 mm and the brake caliper is the same as for the rear wheel. The adapter is screwed onto the rear of the fork leg, with the brake sitting directly on the adapter. By flipping the adapter, the available brake disc sizes of 140 and 160 mm can be changed.
