Cane Creek Double Barrel Air CS shock absorber, Climp Switch, 14.7 mm bore, 45 mm travel, 190 mm installation length
The high-end shock absorber with an extremely wide adjustment range and Climp Switch technology, external high- and low-speed rebound and compression adjustment. The enduro shock absorber for maximum performance. The Cane Creek Double Barrel Air shock features a unique design in which the oil flows through externally adjustable valves. This allows the shock to be precisely tailored to personal preferences. The self-adjusting negative air spring ensures maximum bottom-out protection.
Handcrafted in the USA and developed in collaboration with Öhlins, the Double Barrel shock is manufactured to extremely high precision and is designed for maximum performance and reliability. To perfectly adapt the shock to the respective frame, volume spacers can be used to reduce the air volume, thereby making the shock more progressive.
With Climp Switch technology, the low-speed rebound and compression can be further adjusted. This ensures full usable travel on the flat and uphill, and reliably suppresses suspension bounce.
Twin Tube technology ensures that the oil flows through the valves responsible for the respective damping, rather than just through the main piston as in conventional dampers. This results in superior, reproducible adjustability.
The High-Speed Compression (HSC) setting is designed to absorb the energy from heavy impacts, such as large ledges or hard landings.
A unique adjustment parameter on the Double Barrel is the High-Speed Rebound, which regulates the rebound speed when the suspension is fully compressed and enables controlled take-offs from jump edges.
The Low-Speed Compression (LSC) stage regulates traction and suspension stability. The LSC setting suppresses unwanted bobbing whilst pedalling, influences the response to bumps and small dips, and affects how the bike reacts to changes in weight.
Like the Low-Speed Compression, the Low-Speed Rebound contributes to traction and suspension stability. The Low-Speed Rebound ensures maximum traction on technical climbs, bumpy trails, banked turns and braking bumps.
Norglide friction bushing:
Cane Creek shocks are available with and without Norglide bushings. These sit between the shock eye and the mounting bushings and have an internal diameter of 14.7 mm. The shock bushings are then inserted into the Norglide bushings. The Norglide bushings ensure minimal friction. Alternatively, the shocks are available in the so-called Open End Eye version, without the Norglide bushings, for direct mounting in frames designed for this purpose. The Open End shock eyes have an internal diameter of 15 mm.
