Pirelli Scorpion Race DH S folding tyre

The Scorpion Race DH S stands for Soft Terrain and has been specially developed for racing on medium-hard and soft terrain; a true specialist for sandy, loamy and generally looser tracks.

The tyre tread, made from the SmartEVO DH rubber compound with its tall, solid knobs, grips any soft surface, whether on straights or in corners. The famous double-layer DualWALL Plus carcass, featuring specific fabric reinforcements, significantly prevents pinch flats, increases puncture resistance during aggressive riding and improves handling on wide rims and when riding with low tyre pressure.

Pirelli SmartEVO DH technology:

The SmartEVO DH rubber compound was developed from Pirelli’s many years of experience and victories in Motocross and Rally World Championships and is a specific compound for enduro and downhill racing. The compound is extremely temperature-stable and achieves a super-soft “A 42” on the Shore scale. This makes the SmartEVO DH rubber compound Pirelli’s most advanced enduro compound ever, ridden by the best downhill and enduro pro athletes.

Pirelli DualWALL Plus technology:

The DualWALL Plus carcass was developed by Pirelli in collaboration with the Enduro factory teams for downhill and enduro racing and is the first choice for demanding riders with the most aggressive riding style. It consists of a double-layer 60 TPI nylon fabric construction that runs the full circumference of the tyre. This prevents sharp objects from penetrating the tyre and increases puncture resistance in any situation. The nylon fabric is additionally combined with a specific rubber insert that prevents pinch flats and absorbs high stresses in fast corners. An aramid fabric reinforcement extending from the tyre bead to the sidewalls stabilises the tyre during aggressive riding and on wide rims when riding with low air pressure. The result is the most uncompromising reliability and the best possible feel that Pirelli offers for this terrain.
