Conti Black Chili Compound:

It’s all about how you mix it! The performance characteristics of a tyre’s rubber compound are largely determined by three interacting factors – static friction [grip], rolling resistance and mileage. The dilemma: if you improve one of these factors, at least one other will deteriorate in return. A tyre with maximum grip wears out faster and rolls more slowly. If you make the tyre faster or more durable, its grip is reduced in turn. With the BlackChili Compound, a tread compound always based on the latest findings in polymer and raw material research, Continental has provided the cycling world with a lasting solution. Depending on a tyre’s intended use, they tailor the compound formulation specifically – whether for road bikes or mountain bikes, for time trials or downhill riding. For BlackChili, special synthetic rubbers are refined with proven natural rubber to create particularly high-performance tread compounds. Carbon black particles, which are optimised in terms of shape and surface properties, are then added to these compounds.

Conti Tubeless Casing:

Continental’s carcass construction is particularly durable and resistant to damage and the ingress of foreign objects. The result: the tyres are versatile, lightweight and feature an attractive design. Furthermore, tyres featuring this technology can also be used tubeless or in combination with an inner tube. Continental recommends using our RevoSealant. For the initial fitting, Continental recommends using at least 30 ml of Conti RevoSealant per tyre. Then rotate the tyre or wheel to distribute the Conti RevoSealant and inflate to maximum pressure. Check the pressure again before the first ride and top up if necessary.

Hookless compatible:

Check the hookless compatibility of the tyre and rim: refer to the information on the tyre packaging. Also check the hookless specifications of your wheel and consult the rim manufacturer’s hookless compatibility chart. Look for clear labelling such as ‘Hookless’ or ‘TSS’. Never exceed the maximum pressure or the maximum inner rim width! Ensure correct tyre fitting. Carefully follow the specifications for the wheels you are using!
