AERO 111: The next generation of aerodynamic road bike tyre performance, developed in close collaboration with the experts at DT Swiss and Swiss Side. The AERO 111 is based on the race-proven technologies of the GP5000 TR series and sets new standards in aerodynamics. The race-optimised Black Chili Compound ensures excellent grip and lower rolling resistance, whilst the proven Vectran Breaker provides puncture protection. The patented, aerodynamically optimised tread design features 48 precision-moulded air chambers. These so-called ‘vortex generators’ create controlled turbulence, causing the airflow to cling to the rim for longer, which reduces drag and optimises handling in crosswinds.

Conti Lazer Grip tyre tread:

With the Lazer Grip tread pattern, Conti takes grip to a whole new level. A laser is used to create a microstructure in the shoulder area of the tyre, which improves cornering grip. In addition, the dark sections look particularly stylish thanks to their velvety surface and offer optimum grip in every situation.

The conflict between grip and rolling resistance has been resolved with Black Chili Compound to a level previously unmatched in the bicycle tyre sector. Countless test victories demonstrate the measurable and noticeable advantage in both laboratory and real-world conditions. The latest polymers, carbon black particles and fillers optimised down to the nanoscale guarantee unique performance. Black Chili Compound improves mileage by 5 per cent, rolling resistance by 12 per cent and puncture protection by 20 per cent.

The Vectran Breaker now also protects the sidewalls. The patented Vectran Breaker resolves the conflict between low weight, low rolling resistance and maximum puncture and cut protection in a fascinating way. The liquid crystal fibre Vectran was developed for airbag systems in the automotive and aerospace industries. It is extremely tear- and cut-resistant, flexible and, unlike aramid, retains these properties even under constant stress.
