The P ZERO Race TLR tyres, from 28 mm width, are compatible with hookless rims in accordance with ETRTO up to a maximum tyre pressure of 5 bar/73 psi.

Compound – SmartEVO

The new SmartEVO compound uses a blend of three different polymers, each of which contributes its own specific property whilst simultaneously guaranteeing a perfect balance of what are actually opposing characteristics: the goal for every rubber engineer. To bring this project to fruition, Pirelli drew on its exceptional experience, gained over 100 years in motorsport, and its vast expertise in cycling. Our in-depth knowledge and chemical expertise have enabled Pirelli’s materials engineers and chemists to utilise this ternary polymer compound in such an advanced way that it ensures the intelligent performance characteristic of the SmartEVO compound’s outstanding properties. Perfect grip, whether wet or dry, combined with low rolling resistance. A performance package suitable for all modern road disciplines and surfaces, from local or World Tour races to epic adventures where climate and road surfaces demand tyres that perform in all conditions.

Pirelli SpeedCORE casing:

SpeedCORE is an innovative, tubeless-ready construction by Pirelli (patent pending) for our high-performance bicycle tyres and represents our most advanced TLR technology to date. Derived from Pirelli’s expertise in the automotive sector, the SpeedCORE construction consists of a thin, airtight layer of rubber compound enriched with aramid particles. This layer covers the inner part of the tyre and, thanks to the presence of aramid in the rubber compound, enables better mechanical resistance, improved air retention and greater overall flexibility: all of which contribute to the tyre’s overall performance.

The new generation of the PZERO Race TLR is the highest-performance tubeless tyre, manufactured entirely in Italy at the new factory in Bollate. The introduction of the new SPEEDCORE technology in the 120-tpi carcass is characterised by the use of an aramid-reinforced layer that covers the inner layer of the tyre, improving both the smoothness and the durability of the rubber. The result: a less stiff but faster tyre. The compound, on the other hand, retains the same advanced SmartEVO technology that it shares with the other high-performance tyres in the PZERO range
