The P Zero Race SLR: ultimate speed, low drag, optimised handling

The P ZERO Race SL-R is the fastest tyre in the P ZERO Race range: specially developed to maximise aerodynamics through the PAAS system (Pirelli Advanced Aerodynamic System), thereby reducing drag and improving the sail effect. The new LiteCore carcass, Pirelli’s lightest and most efficient TLR construction, offers maximum rolling efficiency and an extremely smooth ride. The SmartEVO² compound ensures excellent grip and control on both dry and wet surfaces. This full-slick tyre, featuring micro-texturing and integrated aerodynamic details, is manufactured in Italy and delivers top performance on the road and in time trials.

Pirelli PAAS:

Pirelli Advanced Aerodynamic System: thanks to advanced CFD simulations and wind tunnel testing, the tyre profile has been optimised to harmonise perfectly with the rim and reduce drag without compromising performance. PAAS is Pirelli’s advanced aerodynamic technology, developed through CFD analysis and wind tunnel testing to enhance the efficiency of the tyre-rim system. The new SmartEVO compound uses a blend of three different polymers, each of which contributes its own specific property whilst simultaneously guaranteeing a perfect balance of what are essentially opposing characteristics: the goal of every rubber engineer. To complete this project, Pirelli drew on its exceptional experience, gained over 100 years in motorsport, and its vast know-how from cycling. Our in-depth knowledge and chemical expertise have enabled Pirelli’s materials engineers and chemists to utilise this ternary polymer compound in such an advanced way that it ensures the intelligent performance characteristic of the SmartEVO compound’s outstanding properties.
