Fulcrum SHARQ 42:

The Sharq wheelsets have been developed to enhance the riding experience on routes with mixed terrain, from tarmac to gravel tracks. The wheelset is the result of intensive development work, advanced technology and extensive design and testing to achieve the best possible performance. We control 100 per cent of the production process. All components are manufactured in Europe and assembled in our own factories. The new Sharq has an internal rim width of 25 mm, an optimal compromise for both road tyres at least 30 mm wide – which guarantee good aerodynamics and low rolling resistance – and wider knobby tyres, which offer secure grip off-road. To ensure the rim can be used with both tubeless systems and inner tubes, it is fitted with mini-hooks that guarantee maximum safety. As is standard with Fulcrum, the rim bed is not drilled and is therefore tubeless-compatible without the need for an additional rim tape.

The total weight of the wheelset is 1,440 grams – perfect for riders who want to tackle mixed routes or long distances without compromise. Fulcrum Sharq 42 Carbon Way Fit rims

The 2-Wave rim profile features a regular symmetrical wave that transitions into an asymmetrical wave at the flanks. The profile height varies between 42 and 47 millimetres from the lowest to the highest part of the wave. With this design, Fulcrum achieves an optimal balance between low aerodynamic drag and stable handling in crosswinds. Compared to a conventional profile of the same height, wind tunnel tests showed a 21 per cent improvement in crosswind stability at approach angles between 0° and 10°, and up to 30 per cent at approach angles between 10° and 20°.

The carbon rims feature the FF80 lamination, which has been specially developed for maximum comfort – particularly on long rides or on mixed terrain. The 2-Way Fit technology was developed to guarantee perfect compatibility of tubeless rims with standard clincher tyres and inner tubes. 2-Way Fit wheels are particularly versatile and therefore perfectly suited to any situation.

Mini Hooked / Crotchet tubeless TC:

‘Hook’ or ‘Crochet’ refers to the shape of the rim flange, which features a so-called hook. This supports the tyre bead and ensures reliable performance, even when using high tyre pressure (> 5 bar). ‘Tubeless’ means that the rim can be ridden without an inner tube, although a setup with an inner tube is also possible.

Cone & Cup USB Ceramic Ball Bearings:

Fulcrum and Campagnolo rely on classic ball bearings with ball rings, cones and bearing cups for their high-quality wheelsets. These continue to offer the best smooth-running properties. The classic deep-groove ball bearings are easy to adjust, clean and maintain.

The USB (Ultra Smooth Bearings) ceramic deep-groove ball bearings guarantee extremely smooth running.
