DT Swiss EXC 1200 wheelset

The super-light, extremely sturdy enduro wheelsets, DT Swiss EXC 1200 Spline 35 Carbon, weigh just 1659 grams – extremely light for a wheelset. Thanks to the high-end Ratchet EXP hubs with Sinc ceramic ball bearings and the lightweight full-carbon rims with a 30 mm rim width, the EXC 1200 Spline 35 wheels offer outstanding acceleration and stability. The legendary reliability of the Ratchet EXP system hub and the straight-pull spokes combine to form the perfect competition wheel.

In collaboration with the highly successful EWS team riders, DT Swiss has designed the rims for the EXC 1200 Spline 30 to be impact-resistant enough to withstand whatever the best in the sport throw at them. The correct rim width provides the best support for today’s high-volume enduro tyres. This rim is complemented by the all-new, high-quality Ratchet EXP System hub. The result is every enduro rider’s dream wheelset: worry-free descents and enough breathing room for a chat on the climb.

DT Swiss EXC 1200 Spline Carbon Rims:

A carbon structure optimised for impact resistance, reinforced rim flanges and the ideal ratio of resin to carbon fibre make the EXC 1200 Spline the benchmark in the enduro sector. Built for tough enduro use, the DT Swiss XRC 1200 offers excellent acceleration and very high stability. With a 35 mm rim width, tyres ranging from 2.1 to 2.8 inches in width can be fitted. Thanks to new hookless rim beads, the DT Swiss Spline Carbon rims are ideally designed for upgrading with a tubeless kit. DT Swiss has also developed new tubeless kits specifically for this purpose. These are included in the scope of delivery

DT Swiss EXP 1200 Spline Hubs:

DT Swiss EXP Straight Pull hubs are based on the new high-end 180 series with the EXP freehub system. With a hub body specially optimised for extreme forces, DT Swiss hubs provide the perfect foundation for extremely stable enduro and FR wheelsets. Hub stiffness is largely determined by the distance between the bearings. For optimum performance, it is important to maximise this distance, which is limited by the size of the freehub system. In the previous system, the drive-side bearing had to be positioned next to the threaded ring, which meant the distance could not be increased. Integrating the drive-side bearing into the threaded ring increases the bearing distance, thereby boosting hub stiffness by 15 per cent.

DT Swiss Ratchet Star EXP Freehub Body System:

The Ratchet Star EXP freehub body system uses two sprockets, each with 36 teeth. In the original Ratchet system, two springs were required for correct operation, as the inner sprocket was not attached to the hub shell. The integration of the tooth disc and threaded ring in the Ratchet EXP hub not only increases service life but also reduces the number of components through the use of a single spring. It also reduces the weight of the freehub system. The freehub bodies are available for the classic HG cassettes from Shimano and SRAM, as well as for the new XD system with SRAM 11-12-speed XG cassettes.

DT Swiss 1200 Straight Pull Spokes:

To achieve an ideal balance between weight and stability, only the highest-quality DT Swiss Aerolite and DT Swiss Aero Comp straight-pull spokes are used in Spline Carbon wheels. They are stiffer than conventional spokes yet can still be trued and replaced using standard tools. The straight-pull lacing allows for precise placement and alignment of the spokes. This optimises wheel stiffness and eliminates any unwanted stress peaks.

DT Swiss Aluminium Tubeless Valve:

The 1200 Spline wheel series is supplied with new aluminium tubeless valves. These offer a 40 per cent weight saving compared to brass valves, whilst an integrated valve tool in the cap and a tapered valve base ensure a perfect fit.
