29-inch DT Swiss 240 EXP Straightpull wheelset with XM rims

The high-end all-mountain and trail wheelset featuring DT Swiss XM rims with rim widths ranging from 22.5 to 30 mm and DT Swiss 240 EXP hubs

We offer the wheelset with quick-release, standard or Boost thru-axle hubs. Available with either 6-bolt disc or Centerlock brake disc mounts. The HG10, Sram XD and Shimano Microspline freehubs are available.

The All Mountain and Trail wheelset featuring DT Swiss 240 EXP Spline straight-pull hubs and the extra-sturdy, wide DT Swiss XM 401, XM 421 or XM 481 rims with a rim width of 22.5 to 30 mm. Hand-built in our specialist workshop. You can customise this wheelset entirely to your specifications. Combined with the DT Swiss straight-pull hubs from the 240 EXP series, you get a fast, high-end wheelset with real durability

Wheel building at TNC-Hamburg:

We hand-build these wheels exclusively for you. Thanks to over 30 years’ experience in wheel building, we extract the optimum in roundness, durability and stiffness from the materials. These wheels are, of course, tested multiple times; we also pre-load the spokes in both the radial and lateral directions. This eliminates the need for re-truing over a long period. We use DT Swiss spokes exclusively. These ensure outstanding durability of the wheelsets. For enduro use, we recommend brass nipples.

DT Swiss 240 EXP hubs:

The DT Swiss 240 EXP straight-pull hubs offer minimal weight combined with exceptional durability – a rarity in hub construction. The ‘S’ in the DT Swiss 240 EXP hubs stands for stainless steel ball bearings. The patented freehub body features interlocking toothed discs, ensuring loss-free power transmission. Straightpull refers to straight, non-offset spokes. Thanks to this technology, it is possible to achieve an ideal balance between weight and stability. The Straightpull spokes allow for very precise alignment and optimised positioning within the wheel, resulting in a stiffer and more responsive wheel.

DT Swiss Star Ratchet EXP System:

The proven DT Swiss Star Ratchet System, in its new EXP version featuring a toothed disc freehub body, allows for easy conversion to various rotor standards. Thanks to a larger bearing spacing, the EXP hubs are even more torsionally rigid and durable than the already legendary DT Swiss 240S hubs

DT Swiss XM 401 rim

The 27 mm wide all-mountain and trail rim with a 22.5 mm rim width from DT Swiss, the XM 401. Thanks to extensive FEM analyses, DT Swiss XM 401 rims feature material only where it is actually needed. These rims are supplied with special DT Squorx Pro Head nipples and must only be laced using these nipples. With the wide XM 401 rim, DT Swiss offers a rim for stable and lightweight All Mountain wheelsets. Cleanly finished, with a welded rim flange and stainless steel eyelets, the DT Swiss XM 401 strikes the perfect balance between low weight and high stability. Recommended for a combined rider and bike weight of up to 110 kg.

DT Swiss XM 421 rim

The 30 mm wide all-mountain and trail rim with a 25 mm rim width from DT Swiss, the XM 421, is designed for tyre widths up to 2.5. Thanks to extensive FEM analyses, DT Swiss XM 421 rims feature material only where it is actually needed. These rims are supplied with special DT Squorx Pro Head nipples and must only be laced using these nipples. With the wide XM 421 rim, DT Swiss offers a rim for stable and lightweight all-mountain wheelsets. Cleanly finished, with a welded joint and stainless steel eyelets, the DT Swiss XM 421 offers the perfect synthesis of low weight and high stability.

DT Swiss XM 481 rim

The 35 mm wide all-mountain and trail rim with a 30 mm rim width from DT Swiss. Thanks to extensive FEM analyses, DT Swiss XM 481 rims feature material only where it is actually needed. These rims are supplied with special DT squorx Pro Head nipples and must only be laced using these nipples. With the 30 mm wide XM 481 rim, DT Swiss offers a rim for stable and lightweight Enduro and All Mountain wheelsets. Cleanly finished, with a welded joint and stainless steel eyelets, the DT Swiss XM 441 offers the perfect balance between low weight and high stability. Recommended for a combined rider and bike weight of up to 120 kg.

DT Competition spokes:

The double cold-forged spoke made from rust-resistant 18/10 chrome-nickel steel with a tapered middle section for robust, lightweight wheelsets. We recommend these spokes for virtually all wheelsets. Extremely durable and sufficiently lightweight, the DT Competition spokes enable wheel building of the highest standard. Thanks to the tapered middle section, the spokes absorb movements in the wheel excellently, without compromising on lateral stiffness and durability. Weight with nipple approx. 7 grams.

DT Competition Race Spokes:

Just as versatile as the bent version of the DT Competition spoke, but as a straight spoke. They are optimally matched to the new straight-pull hubs and offer even greater durability compared to the conventional DT Competition spoke. Thanks to the extra-thin middle section, they save a further 70 g per wheel compared to the already lightweight DT Competition, whilst offering almost the same stiffness and durability.

DT Swiss Aero Comp spokes:

Designed for stable, laterally stiff yet aerodynamic wheelsets, the DT Swiss Aero Comp spoke is first cold-forged in the middle section to make it lighter and stronger. In a further complex process, it is flat-forged to optimise aerodynamic properties whilst simultaneously increasing material strength. The DT Aero Comp guarantees a balanced ratio of stiffness, aerodynamics and durability.

DT Swiss Aero Lite spokes:

The DT Swiss Aerolite spoke is flatter and lighter than any other; the DT Swiss Aerolite spoke features an aerodynamic flat profile and is extremely lightweight. Thanks to the 0.9 x 2.3 mm aerodynamic mid-section, this spoke can be fitted to all standard hubs. The Cold Forging Technology (CFT) developed by DT Swiss makes the reduced and forged DT Aerolite the lightest stainless steel spoke and gives it excellent mechanical properties. Particularly suitable for super-light and fast road or cross-country wheelsets. 64 DT Aerolite spokes weigh just an incredible 278 g at a length of 264 mm. Weight per spoke at a length of 264 mm: 4.31 grams

DT Squorx spoke nipples:

The DT Swiss Squorx Pro Head nipple combines ease of installation with light weight thanks to the DT Pro Head shape, combined with an additional Torx and square tool socket. The Torx socket provides a larger contact area during wheel building, ensuring that the force from the tool is better distributed across the nipple. The spherical contact area within the rim guarantees perfect alignment with the spoke.
