Mavic Crossmax SL Ultimate 30 UST wheelset

Super-light at 1380 grams, fast and robust – the new Mavic Crossmax SL Ultimate 30, for Olympians and those who aspire to be. The Country Race wheelsets feature 30 mm rim width and hookless full-carbon rims, Infinity Boost hubs and Instant Drive freehub bodies, approved for a system weight of up to 150 kg.

Mavic Crossmax SL Ultimate 30 UST Disc rims:

The full-carbon rims with a 30 mm rim width weigh just 360 grams. The benchmark for truly fast wheelsets. The 35 mm wide rims, made from unidirectional full carbon, are extremely light and stiff, and thanks to their asymmetrical spoke pattern, offer excellent lateral stiffness. The rims are designed for maximum strength combined with good vertical compliance. The new hookless rim shape is more aerodynamic and faster. Thanks to the asymmetrical rim design, braking and drive forces are absorbed evenly, which increases the service life. The Crossmax SL Ultimate rims are suitable for UST, tubeless tyres, tubeless-ready tyres and standard tyres with an additional inner tube.

Mavic Adaptive Lay-up, a special carbon lay-up technology, allows us to hand-build these carbon rims using less material between the spoke holes. The spoke holes themselves are reinforced with strategically positioned carbon layers, resulting in noticeable weight savings without compromising stiffness or strength. The lighter rim accelerates faster, climbs more efficiently and feels more agile on the trail. Its carbon top layer features our new UD finish, giving it an exclusive look and even greater durability.

Mavic Crossmax Infinity Disc Hubs:

The proven Mavic QRM auto industrial bearings are used in the Infinity hubs. The widened bearing spacing ensures torsional stiffness of the hub, whilst the new spoke lacing pattern ensures effective power transfer. Equipped with the Instant Drive sprocket freehub body and the ORM Auto axle system. The self-aligning bearing system of the rear hub, QRM Auto, combined with the sprocket freehub, ensures maintenance-free operation over a long period.

Mavic Instant Drive 360 freewheel body

The Instant Drive 360 freehub system is super-light and ensures rapid engagement with a mere 9-degree engagement angle. A large, contact-free rubber seal reduces friction. And a wide selection of axle stubs ensures compatibility with many mounting standards. The oversized aluminium axle and the hardened aluminium freehub body save 40 g. Two pawls ensure fast and loss-free engagement. A radial seal guarantees low friction at high speeds and perfect water resistance. This freehub body is easy to convert and is available as an HG10 version for Shimano 8–11-speed / SRAM 8–10-speed, SRAM XD 11- and 12-speed, and Shimano 12-speed Micro Spline

Mavic Crossmax SL Ultimate Disc Applications:

Cross-country racing, all-mountain and marathon. Suitable for use with disc brakes only. Approved by Mavic for riders weighing up to 150 kg. These wheels can be used with genuine UST tyres, tubeless-ready tyres and standard tyre-inner tube combinations.
